Family-run ski resort is ideal for families.
BV has exactly what you want and need and skips the silly frills that characterize too many ski resorts. First, this place exudes friendliness and ease. Every employee I met from the management to the maintenance and lift crews had a smile and conveyed a pleasant welcome. The vibe is real, not a frenzy of selfie indulgence or swagger. Next, the mountain itself is much more than it seems. For this tree skier there are amazing glades both gentle and steep throughout the three peaks, alongside well maintained groomers. Navigation is easy though a map in pocket is a good idea because of the many old style winding trails that take you on a journey through the forest rather than down a crowded boulevard straight down. Finally, we stayed both in a recently updated deluxe suite for several nights and also an older standard hotel room. Both had comfy beds and pillows, extra blankets and pillows and a full supply of bathroom amenities. The kitchen in the suite was stocked with high end pans and gadgets as well as mine at home. Highly recommended!

Between the West Branch River and Route 108 is a biking trail full of scenic vistas and small town atmosphere.
No matter what season it is, the Rec Path has something for everyone. Magnificent mountain views, streams, rivers, meandering paths through fields, across bridges, through woodlands. Walk, hike, snowshoe, cross country ski, bike, picnic, rest on benches along the way- something for everyone. Parking in town behind the community church and taking the path all the way out and back is 11 miles. A must see for all to enjoy when visiting.

New and improved location - Bigger and better! Now at Camp Meade in Middlesex, VT. Proud to share land with Red Hen Bakery, Nutty Steph & Anne's Weavery. Come tour the new studio and gallery 7 days a week, sign up for a class, or pick up a unique gift for a friend or family member.
If you are looking for a unique gift for yourself or a friend this is the place to go. They have all original and handmade pottery by local people. The faculty was extreamly friendly and offered lots of information about the artist and their work. They also offer a tour if you have time and want to look around

Tthe Ziemke Glassblowing Studio is the working studio of Glass Artist Glenn Ziemke. It features an observation room where visitors can watch glassblowing as the artists are working. There is also a gallery attached which features the entire line of Glenn's work including from glassware for the table to sculptural pieces for the home and for gifts. Glenn has been working in glass for 40 years and his Waterbury Center Studio is observing its 21st year.
This is both a shop of beautiful hand made glass products and a working demonstration of the glass making with commentary (between customers) from the owner. Highly visible display through a glass screen. Extremely well done. Eductional and interesting. The shop deserves more business. Well worth visiting. Highly recommended.

CLOSED CHRISTMAS DAY AND NEW YEARS DAY please visit us another time! We have free sampling of many varieties of Cabot cheese and sell Cabot product and local Vermont products.
We are local Vermonters who take all visitors to the Cabot Farmers' Store when we head up to Stowe. Here you can sample probably 20 different cheeses in order to understand what sharp cheddar really is like, and then take home a brick of your favorite. There are other flavor-infused cheeses as well. The store also has a nice offering of Vermont products, from jams to wooden cutting boards, to local craft goods and even specialty wines. Personally, I buy a lot of postcards here to support my postcard exchange hobby. After all these years of visiting, it's time to give credit to a great local Vermont enterprise. If you are headed up to Stowe on rte 100, you will find this store on the left. I think it is open 7 days.

For all the euphoric flavors you can't get enough of – especially the ones you can't get in ordinary stores – nobody scoops Ben & Jerry's better than we do at our scoop shops.
My husband and I visited Ben and Jerry's on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not crowded or busy. The tour lasted about 30 minutes, included a short video about the company, and cost $4.00 per person. The tour guide was funny and entertaining. At the end of the tour we were all given a sample of their ice creme. My husband and I had wanted to purchase a few t-shirts for our toddler grandchildren, but found the prices a bit more than expected, about $18 - $22. All in all, it was worth the trip for us.

We have taken our twin toddlers several times this summer and they always have a great time. There is a small beach area where they can dig and build little castles or mountains. The water is shallow with gradual depth increases so they can comfortably splash around. The water is generally clean with minimal debris both floating in the water and under your feet as you walk. The sand on the bottom is not slimy and gross like it can be in some lakes. There is a large grassy area to setup a beach cabana and chairs as well as some picnic tables. You can also rent kayaks, paddle boards, etc. On hot sunny weekends get there early to find a parking space and space on the beach area. It can get so full that they start turning people away. Bring a lunch and stay the whole day!

Stopped in on a Friday evening and was really impressed with the selection of beers. and the interaction we had with the young folks working there. they were chatty and had a lot of beer knowledge. We enjoyed the conversation and friendly spirit..... Good Job!
