Went with a friend to celebrate a significant birthday and was fully expecting to be bowled over by St. Kilda but didn't anticipate the commitment and professionalism of the crew,
We left Uig pier bang on time after a thorough safety briefing expecting to be carried straight to St. Kilda but had two minor detours en-route where the crew stopped and informed the twelve of us of items of natural, cultural and historic interest.
We arrived to blue skies on St. Kilda and after being ferried ashore enjoyed the guided tour courtesy of Nicola. This was fascinating and was delivered by someone who clearly new her subject and enjoyed delivering it. My friend and I then climbed Conachair, the guide booklet advised 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hrs, these two fifty somethings did it just under two. The views in the conditions were perfect!
After tea and cake with the crew the return journey started and this was a big highlight. We cruised passed the Conachair cliffs and Stac an Armin, both overwhelming experiences.
The information and commentary from the crew was fabulous, during the trip they impressed with their knowledge of the relevant history, geography, geology, sociology, ornithology, and of course zoology!
The sightings of Risso dolphins in the Minch was also an experience to remember, during what was a fantastic experience from start to finish!

It wasn't very busy the day we came on Friday. They have a very big work area and good selection of pottery. The prices were a bit expensive but the staff were helpful.

We did a day tour an this was one of the stops. Definitely a "must see" place. The geography is stunning and it feels like you are staring out into infinite beauty!

Nice drive from Portree to the museum, a lot of it single lane road. Entrance fee very cheap. On a nice dry day it would be a fabulous place to spend a couple of hours. We enjoyed going from croft to croft, very informative. Unfortunately rain started coming down sideways, wind howling and really cold so we did it all in half an hour! They have a machine where you can get coffee etc and also a small shop with touristy stuff. They were closing two days after we were there but it was quite busy even with the bad weather. Worth a visit if at all interested in the history of the island.

We pretty much had the beach to ourselves. The kids ran, dug, splashed and hunted for dinosaur fossils / footprints. The views were out of this world. The sand is black but well worth a visit!!

It was along our drive on the Isle of Skye so we stopped to check it out. I always find it interesting to look at ruins and try to imagine what the building might have looked like when it was whole. The views from the castle are outstanding as most of them are in Skye!

Did the half day tour covering the Islands of Canna, Rum, Eigg and Soah. We stopped on the island of Canna for nearly an hour and it was great. The boatman was very informative on the local Islands and wildlife and made the trip a very enjoyable and exciting trip. We saw lots of different birds and seals, together with a ship wreck. Would thoroughly recommend the trip.

Visited Skyeskyns twice during our stay on Skye and bought items on both occasions, the final haul was three different skins, some care items, a woollen 'Beanie Hat' and some sheepskin insoles. This was a cute little brewery and shop. My friend bought beer to bring with on our tour and I bought a hat. The employees were really friendly and my friend enjoyed the beer. Stop by if you're in the area!

Don't trust Google. They sent me to middle of no-where on the road to Staffin from Uig and claimed "You have reached your destination" !!! There are two such in Google : Rha Waterfalls and Falls of Rha. The second one is closer but still not easy to find
I spoke to the Uig hotel staff when having a meal there and they gave me better directions. But even with that knowledge I overshot the entrance and then had to park the car and walk to find out the place.
Basically, shortly after the Uig hotel turn right into the road A855 going towards Staffin via Quirang. Within a minute you'll find a stone bridge over the river Rha. Immediately after that there is a cul-de-sac to the left called Park Terrace/Corbett Terrace. Put that in Google as your destination.
Stop there and if you are lucky you can find a parking place there. Please do not park in the passing place.
If you had reached the Woodbine Guest house on this road then you have gone too far.
Then retrace your steps back to the stone bridge and you'll see a small gap in the wall with a sign saying Woodland walks. Get in and follow the path, go behind a few house and you'll see the steps to the falls. Take care as it can be very slippery after rains.
It had rain incessantly the day before and I was taken aback by the force of the fall. It is a two step fall with Mocha Coffee colored water gushing down with foams building up everywhere over the rocks. The fairy glen was packed with tourists but there was none here. Enjoy the thundering noise and solitude and then climb back.
Strongly recommended, specially if you go after some rainfall.
Hope my direction will help you to locate this little known beauty and I'll try to correct that in Google.
