At an elevation of 15,200 feet above the sea level & 37 Km from Tawang , the Bumla Pass a prominent attraction of Arunachal Pradesh, marks the Indo-China border. The place instantly evokes a feeling of patriotism, especially after watching soldiers protecting the border that too in such nerve-wracking weather condition. Also, it was through this pass, Dalai Lama entered India. Bumla Pass has witnessed many memorable events that make it a special one in the history of India. While on visit to Bumla Pass, make a point to see the route from where Dalai Lama entered India to take a refuge. One can also see the Indo-China Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) Point, which is one of the four meeting points between Indian Army and People's Liberation Army of China for regular consultations and interaction The best time to visit here will be summers, and too when there's no sign of rain.Bumla Pass is accessible only by permission. For the permits, you need to visit the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Tawang District and then Indian army cantonment of Tawang. The office for issue of visitor pass is inside the Campus of ‘Tawang War Memorial.’ We visited this place in a group of 19 persons in 3 jeeps & have taken almost full day to visit BunLa Pas & Madhuri Lake.

The Sela pass and the Sela lake situated at an altitude of 13,680 feet ( i.e. 4,170 meters ) are a gateway to Tawang, the treasures that lie ahead within the state of Arunachal. Besides its geographical importance, Sela Pass is breathtaking place mostly covered with snow providing some beautiful views of the eastern Himalayan range. The rocky pass is also home to one of Arunachal's most beautiful lakes - the Sela Lake. Being at Sela Pass and gazing into the frozen Sela Lake one cannot help but marvel at the wonder that is the Himalayas. I have visited this waterfall on route to tawang with my family ,it so beautiful at this time of the year. River flowing by the side and beautiful waterfall ,its like a dream . My family just loved this place. Tip: Nothing to eat at this place also so take some food with you. Note: This is the same waterfall filmed in koyla movie

Tawang Buddhist Monastery

This is much more than a usual monastery visit as this is a living, working miniature town within a town. The main hall can be visited on two levels and on a sunny day has enough light inside for good photography. The view of the town and snow-topped mountains is spectacular from here.

Formed by a flash flood after an earthquake in the year 1950, Madhuri Lake is originally known as Shonga-tser Lake, which is one of the most popular lakes in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The lake was renamed so after the shooting of Bollywood movie Koyla, starring Madhuri Dixit, the beautiful actress. The lake has been surrounded by wonderfully lush valleys, and snow-capped mountains. A leisure walk is the best way to explore the picturesque surroundings of the lake Tawang is a town in Arunanchal Pradesh, profusely bestowed with pristine nature and a vibrant ethnicity. There is a mesh of India and China which can be witnessed during your trip to Tawang. The popular Tawang Monastery plays a special role in attracting different travelers here. Best time to visit Tawang is between March and October and for season-wise details of the town, you must read further. One of the remotest pools of the nation and maybe of the world also, Sangetsar or Madhuri Lake is a stunning blend of rough mountains and an ever-show lake whose excellence is past hypnotizing. Jaswant Garh War Memorial, is dedicated to a war hero, Jaswant Singh Rawat who scarified his life for India, changing its fate. Place is well developed to depict the saga for war, its background and soldiers. There is a canteen run by Army, which gives free tea to everyone. There is also a store where woolen caps, jackets, gloves etc are available.

Tawang War Memorial is a big 40-foot structure overlooking the Tawang-Chu Valley. The great Tawang War Memorial was constructed in commemoration of the sacrifices of great Indian Army soldiers who laid their lives to protect the nation during the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The visitors can spot the names of the brave soldiers carved on granite plates and this memorial was also visited by Dalai Lama in 1997. The memorial is dedicated to 2420 brave soldiers who gave up their lives in the war at Kameng sector. Now, Tawang War Memorial is well maintained by Indian Army, and it is a major tourist destination in Arunachal Pradesh. The memorial of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat is another major attraction here, who won the Mahavir Chakra as Posthumous Award.

I went to Pangeteng Tso Lake. Located almost 25km from Tawang town, this immensely picturesque locale is a perfect tourist site. Excellent for picnic, depending on the weather. The serene atmosphere and mesmerizing surroundings leave tourists spellbound. It is great place to go.

I went to Nagula Lake. Nagula Lake is a captivating tourist attraction in Tawang. The scenic landscape of the lake will leave you to spellbind and one can spot a number of Brahminy ducks around the lake. It is great place to go.
