Taunton is situated on the Taunton River which winds its way through the city on its way to Mount Hope Bay, 10 miles (16 km) to the south. At the 2010 census, the city had a population of 55,874. Thomas Hoye Jr. is the current mayor of Taunton, and has held the position since 2012.

The Old Colony History Museum houses significant collections which chronicle lives lived, wars waged, fortunes won and ingenuity rewarded. We encourage visitors to walk among our exhibits and discover regional history. Others can find their roots in our research library, specializing in local genealogy. The Museum's parent organization is the Old Colony Historical Society, one of the oldest organizations of its kind in New England. Founded in 1853, it serves the region of southeastern Massachusetts that was once part of the Plymouth Colony. The Museum has its headquarters in the former Bristol Academy, designed in 1852 by the New York architect Richard Upjohn.

I've played 80 escape rooms at this point, and it's rare for me to really feel immersed in an environment, let alone have 30 years shaved off my live (in a good way). I haven't played their new theater room yet (soon!), but their 90's video arcade room brought me back to the time of Game Boys, slap bracelets, and Trapper Keepers. The set is extremely hands on, with on-point theming...I mean, playing video games while you're IN a live action game...what could be better?? My favorite moment? There's one part that REALLY brought me back. You have to do something that we've all seen that one snot-nosed, screaming brat do back in the day: climbing on the ******** to put a **** in the **** to get extra ******* because bad parenting. I'm sure my face lit up when now I got to do it! Also, the owners Sheryl and Taylor, are some of the most passionate designers around and draw inspiration from games around the world, which is refreshing to see. I believe they were recently in Greece and played some next-level rooms over there...hopefully some of that inspiration will find it's way into their future rooms! Anyway, tons of fun, highly recommended!

Great area to kick back and relax by a fire...The Park rangers are excellent and present... The grounds are well kept and clean. The woods, trails and lakes are beautiful inspiration for painting and drawing. We feel right at home here.
