Tanjung Pendam Beach

Reviewed By Kartini Z - Jakarta, Indonesia

The beach is narrow and quite commercialized with shops nearby and jogging track. Car has to make a round thru the area before you can park in front of the beach.
When we arrived, the locals were preparing for a running event the next day, so some of the road were barricaded and stage was erected. Loud music blaring and I do not like it at all.
As for the view, the beach is ordinary but you can catch the sunset here, and I don't know what else to write - so you know how ordinary this beach is when you could not find an appropriate adjective to describe the beach. --- sorry Tanjung Pendam.

I went there with my coworkers, and the guide said that we could play the musical instrument there. We had lots of fun singing "Kepice" and playing the music. Aside from that, you could see the cultural stuffs for the wedding and some traditional clothes. The wooden-house also never failed to give calm and hommy sensation.

We had a very good time at Leebong Island. It is a beautiful resort, which is fairly new. We decided to stay one night as we read some of the reviews and noticed people who went for the day felt like they could have stayed longer.
The island is very relaxing and have activities for all ages. You can climb some of the tree houses for a wonderful view or for kids to play. The tie changes during the day, at least this time of the year but is not very deep, so families with young children will find the place enjoyable. There was a beach volleyball court, ping pong table, kayak, paddle boards, bicycles, hammocks, and lots of attentive staff. The things that we probably enjoyed the least were the 'excessive attention from the staff' and the food. In terms of the attention, we live in Indonesia and are used to the friendliness of people here but the attention received by the staff in the resort was a bit extreme. They took A LOT of pictures and videos of us and asked for testimonials more than once.

Regarding the food, we thought the lunch was probably the best. All our meals, including breakfast, had some type of fish soup and a lot of seafood dishes as it is customary in the island. You may want to ask if they can prepare something different, at least for breakfast. We left earlier than anticipated to be able to eat something different the next day and our kids are not super picky.
They do have a little store there where you could get some snacks for a change of pace.
The sunset at the island was beautiful (only disturbed by a staff member who wanted a testimonial). Luckily, we were able to enjoy the sunrise on our own. Staying over, at least one night, is probably worthwhile.

After several time to belitung, last Oct i've just visited this island. This spot actually the last destination of our activity in hopping Islands.
At first it look like any other island nearby that we've already visited. We walk further to the middle of the island. Passing natural jungle like environment and climbing big rocks. After about 15 minutes, we arrived at some gap between some big rocks.
You can explore many gap in this area, definitely you will get wet. But the more you explore, the more unique spot you'll find. Be careful in the spot that near the ocean, the current is very strong.
After that, we explore another part of this island, it have a very big flat rock where you can jump on and have a picture with another island as background.
This island is beautifull, if you don't want to explore, you can hang around the beach. The sand is white and stroll along the sea line.

By bus we travel from Tanjung Pandan to Kelapa Kampit, East Belitung. The road was a bit rocky and you can see trees and woods all the way. The view was amazing. We saw the other side of Belitung beside its famous shore and Beaches. The sky was clear you can look at the Mountains even though its far away.
My sister took the outbound trip. There's also a flying fox and few ride that's designed for adults to challenge our adrenaline. I rode the giant swing and it was amazing. For lunch, we ate very scrumptious dishes at Kantin Nek Ras. For me, I always was curious with Mie Rebus Belitung and finally got to taste it there. By the end of the day, my father had a Jeep tour to an open-pit and escorted to some kind of cauldron and it's very Maccu Pichu-ish.
You can go check the website to see the full facilities.
Will go back again :)
