America's Only Public Bathrooms with See-Thru Walls

Going to the bathroom on the square in Sulphur Springs is quite an unusual experience! You can sit on the potty and people watch at the same time. The weird thing is when someone walks up and seems to stare right back at you! Don't panic, they can't see in but some still try to shock you with their comical antics. Hilarious, but a little disconcerting!

Hopkins County Veterans Memorial

Reviewed By Badgelady - Cut and Shoot, Texas

Situated on the Hopkins County Courthouse (an impressive structure on its own), this memorial area is very well planned and aesthetically appealing. Today was a warm sunny day which highlighted the various aspects of the Memorial. A statue of a helmeted infantryman was placed centrally among several stone benches recognizing US participation in the various wars: WW 1, WW 2, Korean War, etc. A double short fountain squirted water in a square area. I can imagine little kids running through here on hot summer days. A few tables and chairs underneath trees provide a place to eat and visit. One of the nicest and cleanest memorials we have visited.

I first went to the Bookworm Box store opening weekend. I also attended the signing with E.L James and most of the signings since. Once a month I volunteer at the packing parties. I can't imagine supporting a worthier cause. All books are signed by the authors and proceeds are donated to various charities. I've met a lot of wonderful people at this bookstore and enjoy my 4 hour drive to get there. It really is my happy place. Colleen Hoover and her family are one of a kind and many times can be found working in the store.

Cooper Lake State Park

Actually, it's divided into two parts, the South Sulphur campground and the "Doctors Creek" on the North. Both are primarily fishing spots, but the South campus has a good medium-range hike (4.5 miles) through the woods. Their "nature trail", though, had recently had a "controlled burn" administered, and so was something less than aesthetic. Great place for families and kids.

Southwest Dairy Center & Museum

Reviewed By jackmom1112 - North Richland Hills, Texas

My mom and I made a quick trip to the dairy museum while in Sulphur Springs for a church retreat. The museum is located in a very nice building in a pretty and pastoral part of Sulphur Springs - you can't miss the big cows out front. Be sure to sign the guestbook and then start over to your left (find the cow tracks - that's where you start to follow the exhibits chronologically). The exhibits give you a good overview of the development and growth of dairies in this region. They also have remarkable collections of milk bottles, butter stamps, cheese molds - just about anything you can think of relating to dairy products - some fun trivia boards, too. Once you've finished the tour, you can visit the ice cream shop. It's all good! We spent less than an hour at the museum and really enjoyed the visit. Be sure to check their website for hours (I don't think they're open on Saturdays and Sundays right now.) Worth the stop!

Recently had a chance to visit Coleman Park while passing through Sulphur Springs. It's in a quiet setting on the west side of town and has walking trails, picnic tables and a fishing pier. This is a popular park with local residents and is a nice place to go for a walk. Check it out if you're in the area.

We are a local vineyard with a storefront winery in downtown Sulphur Springs. We offer tastings, glasses, food trays, and we sell bottles retail. Relaxed atmosphere where you can order from the many outstanding restaurants in downtown, and eat in the winery.

We always come Phiness Farms for special occasions for sure! There are a variety of excellence wines to choose from at this Winery.

The women love the Chardonnay and Moscato is the favorite for our wives. The fellows love the Blackberry and Merlot.

My personal favorite is the Rubis Aristo...this wine has a nice mild explosion of flavors once it touches your taste buds...this unique blend of grapes creates the best tasting wine I have ever had!

The owner, Phil and Vanessa Williams, own the vineyard and winery. They are super down-to-earth people!

They have planted each grape vine, peach tree, apple tree, and blackberry vine personally.

This hard work is easily evidenced as one tastes the fruit of their labor in each bottle of wine from Phiness Farms.

This is by far the best wine all of our group has ever tasted. The atmosphere here is the greatest ever!

We gladly give Phiness Farms 2 thumbs up!

You gotta check this place out for sure!

My wife and I have a standing appt. with our favorite masseuse every Tuesday for the past three years. It's difficult to believe such talent is here in this very small town of ours.

We travel often and both of us do not even bother with other facilities in hotels and spas nationwide. healing to relaxation, this is the place.
