Love the polo club, especially when the high goal events are on. The shopping is good, the gin is great and the food is amazing. If you can get tickets to the after party then you should go! (It doesn't start until about 3am mind you)

Arrive early to enjoy their restaurant before playing on a well kept course. Very good value for money and the ladies hire clubs were good quality. If you like a challenge the 17th and 18th will not disappoint. I have only given 4 stars as 12th hole was under repair but once completed will be worth 5 stars.

Sotogrande regulars would recognise Gustavo Ridrigerz, AKA Tavvy, as the local sporting hero. Following the success of his Surfing and boating school this new venture appears to be as attentive, professional and value for money. I have bought a carbon fibre Treck bike from them and the after care has been second to none. My house guests have rented road and mountain bikes from them. All the rental bikes are virtually brand new. The bike repair is managed by a Jamie who recently arrived from UK. I brought my bike from London down to get the once over. Bike & Bike is fantastic.

Puerto de la Duquesa

A place to visit if you are in the area but not somewhere to make a special effort to see. Purpose built marina filled with pleasure craft with basically pedestrianised roads on 3 sides. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants which are pleasant to sit outside when the weather is warm. We watched some kids feeding the fish by the quayside. It’s a very touristy area. Better to explore the lanes and plazas inland from the marina.

Castillo de la Duquesa

Reviewed By SheffieldPip - Sheffield, United Kingdom

This a great historical building right in the middle of the little village of Castillo. You get a tremendous view over the cast and towards the Rif Mountains in Morocco and, of course, Gibraltar. There are also the remains of a Roman fish processing building, which unfortunately the Ayuntamento have allowed to be partly built on and the rest being neglected. Well worth a visit to the castle though.
