Tilden is one of Berkeley's oldest and most popular parks that offers a variety of family-fun activities like pony rides and carousels.
We have visited Tilden Park several times in the past year. Our toddler loves riding the trains and we enjoy the nature walks. The train rides are fun for the entire family. The train models are very well designed and lot of fun to explore. Pack a picnic and enjoy the entire day here.

Boasting an Arabian Nights theme, this casino attracts American and Asian visitors wishing to try their luck.
Busy busy place, very crowded, machines too close together. Smoking allowed so be prepared, ashes everywhere, pretty disgusting. I have been to other smoking casinos, not so bad when they actually empty ashtrays and clean up a little. I couldn't play some machines because they were covered in ashes! I did win 1350.00 though.

Wonderful museum with great displays and short films that tell the story. Coordinate your visit around a scheduled talk by Ranger Betty Soskin. She is a compelling and inspiring speaker who weaves past and present into her own riveting story. History comes alive and you will not be disappointed. At 96 years young, she is a national treasure!

Spaghetti Tours is a fully-insured and licensed (TCP#28986) company, founded in 2012. Vincenzo, the owner, has 18 years of experience in the industry and can speaks fluent English and Italian. At Spaghetti Tours we want to provide an alternative to the big bus tours. We offer three tours with lecture around the San Francisco Bay Area: City Tour, Muir Woods and Sausalito, and the Wine Country Napa/Sonoma. We can also charter our van on an hourly basis (4 hours minimum, call for prices.)We use a new 2012 Mercedes Sprinter Van with 12 seats (11 passengers plus a driver.) The van has high ceilings, large windows, comfortable seats, A/C and a CD player. Make your reservations before the high season is here. Our new website is ready to be viewed. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Vincenzo.
My wife and I recently took three other couples on a tour around San Francisco, then to Muir Woods, then Sausalito and finally to Alcatraz. Vincent was a pretty good tour guide. He was willing to do whatever we wanted and he suggested that we stop at the scenic outlook above the Golden Gate bridge. I'm so glad he did! You may find a tour guide with a bit more knowledge or a better presentation, but for the price, we were extremely satisfied.
Vincent also was very clear about charges, with no hidden taxes or fees. I really appreciated the honesty, as it's sometimes scary dealing with tour guides.

East Brother Beer Company is a production brewery and taproom nestled in Richmond, CA. Eventually, your ship comes in. East Brother Beer Co. was founded by two friends, Rob and Chris, after decades of seeing the brewery take shape in their minds. They’ve brewed countless beers in their day, and always found themselves returning, as inevitably as the tide, to classic styles executed with precision.
This establishment has a fantastic staff, very warm and welcoming. They're very knowledgeable and accommodating. There are food trucks outside with amazing food and games to pass the time with good friends while enjoying fantastically brewed beer. Excellent selection allowing the avid brew taster to venture beyond the mundane. The atmosphere is open and airy with the echo of laughter from patrons truly enjoying their time together. I will be back for sure! Great job gents!

Whitewater rafting trips on the American River in Coloma, California. 7-acre river-beach campground with full amenities including daily river trips, nature trail, giant chess, pool tables, volleyball, horseshoes, store, and more. Also, outdoor centers, base camps and 1- & 2-day guided river trips starting daily on the Kern, Kaweah, Kings, Merced, Tuolumne and Yuba Rivers.
Seriously, that was what my 11-year-old said at the end of our three day trip. Our 17-year-old said it was up there too. We have been fortunate enough to have taken our kids to a lot of wonderful places. Hawaii, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, and so on, but big resorts don't hold a candle to the personal experience we had as a family learning to Whitewater Raft. Our guide, Lane wasn't just our rafting guide, he was one of the resident chefs, and all around buddy during the whole trip. The whole team took care of us wonderfully. The water was the highest it had been in years, so our campground was flooded out. We had to pitch our tent in the parking lot. No worries, the next morning, when another group left, they moved us down into the campsite, near the picnic tables. It was effortless. Easy breezy.
The food.... oh the food. It was delicious, and plentiful. My boys, husband included, liked the dutch oven brownies we had each night for dessert. The meals were incredible. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit (and yes, they lay it out like they do in the pictures in the brochure) juices, yogurts, pastries.... and that's just breakfast. Dinner? Grilled steak and chicken, fresh veggies, salad, homemade mashed potatoes. Oh, and don't forget about lunch and happy hour snacks. I'm a foodie, and these folks have introduced me to a whole new kind of camping.
Thanks to Karn, Lane and the rest of the gang for making this a very memorable family trip.

California's most prestigious public university is the home of liberalism and revolution.
As a university professor elsewhere I can really appreciate the environment at this academic campus. The educational quality of this institution is worldwide recognize and its location is definitely ideal: relatively small community (Berkeley) near a rather cosmopolitan city at large like the bay area.

Trapped in a locked room with friends or strangers, can you find the secrets and escape? Time is running out, the clock is ticking, are you up for this 60-minute challenge? Featured in Wall Street Journal, OMESCAPE, the latest craze in Asia, is finally coming to the US, with its first store opening in Richmond, Bay Area in May 2014. Like us on Facebook and stay tuned.
I've done a lot of escape rooms and the one we did at OMescape was both challenging and had incredible technology to it. Really fun and difficult. I would recommend you do the easier rooms before working up to the harder ones as they are seriously difficult.

We enjoyed going to Arlington Park. It is in the hill area of El Cerrito and is a beautiful park to take a walk. There are two ponds there as well as a creek. There is also tennis courts and basketball.
For the children, we liked it that they were having fun in the well designed play ground areas. There is also a large grass area.
Its a nice park to have a picnic or bbq. For those who are in a wheel chair, they have designed the area and designated some tables for wheel chairs.
There is also a club house which periodically does events. One can also rent the clubhouse for such things as birthday parties, etc.
