McCoy Stadium

A popular baseball field (home of the Pawtucket Red Sox) for minor-league games that draws a huge crowd.

Reviewed By apatriot73 - Massachusetts

I have been coming here for years and years. It is a great place for watching AAA Baseball . It is much better in many ways than seeing MLB first hand. The prices for everything are drastically cheaper, less crowds, better parking-free if you get there early, including handicapped and easier traffic.

I would recommend going to MLB at least once in a lifetime though. Many stars come from AAA. The players usually like giving autographs.

Lastly, McCoy has events sometimes, like walking the field, fireworks and more.

Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art

This innovative and internationally renowned museum showcases more than 80,000 works of art from Paul Revere's silver and caricatures of 18th century Europe, to French Impressionists and the avant-garde works of recent alumni. A 12th-century Japanese Buddha has its own room with benches for meditating.

RISD Museum continues to be top-notch! we were there Jan 2015 and much of the displays delighted me-again, or newly! Beautiful furniture design-a cherry music stand as eye-catching as a sculpture--some classics from mid-century 1900's still sharp and stand-out well-designed---but I also want to compliment the guides this time. We were given suggestions and offered assistance to see more of what we were obviously enjoying by several guides-and helped navigating some of the more confusing halls and connections between areas. All was done pleasantly and so helpfully-I was really impressed and grateful!

A Seekonk Landmark - The original building was built between 1722 and 1723 from 1924 to 1943 the property was used as the Jacobs Hill Hunt Club for the “Who’s Who” in America crowd that passed through Providence RI. To preserve this piece of American History the current owners have opened it as a House Museum and Bed and Breakfast/Inn.

Needed a place to stay on a solo visit to the Boston area for a weekend family event. My priority was to be close to family but not "too close". Wanted a peaceful, relaxing spot to "chill" away from the hustle and bustle of a large city and yet wanted to experience a new area to explore. While very close to Providence, R.I. and Boston, I enjoyed my quiet time @ the Jacob Hill Inn and the outstanding hospitality of the hosts, Eleonora and Bill. They couldn't be nicer or more helpful and the Inn was tastefully decorated and yet had modern conveniences for a Historic property. A welcome glass of wine , dinner reservations made at the spur of the moment and a jacuzzi spa in my petite suite made it difficult to leave the property which is serene and bucolic. Next time, I want to return with my husband to enjoy the pool, tennis court and the billiard room . Casual without any fussiness, it has a very relaxed atmosphere. Would be great as a special place to stay for an Anniversary, Honeymoon night or parent's get away.

I took my mom and friend to Slater Mill last weekend, we had a private tour because no one else showed up. Our tour guides were extremely informative and friendly. We toured 3 buildings, they answered all of our questions, provided a terrific background to the Industrial Revolution and how Slater helped to build and create this revolution.

Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park

We stopped by on the way home from our weekend in Providence. Google maps got us there without a problem, however you have to be looking for the signs as it is in an industrial/warehouse type neighborhood. The facility was great, very clean and super friendly staff. The kids had a blast and couldn't believe it when their hour was up.

Brown University is made up of a number of architecturally very interesting buildings to view. We visited the University on a very cold winter morning after heavy snow storms and the place was a million post card pictures. Located very close to the CBD of providence if you are looking for picture shots take a stroll around Brown.

State House

This imposing marble building houses King Charles' 1663 charter of the Rhode Island colony.

Reviewed By tranzactnow - Perth, Western Australia

If you are visiting Providence and have even the slightest interest in grand buildings then you should not miss State House. Free entry during the week will allow you to see a most spectacular building with what I was told was the fourth highest dome of any building in the USA. Contained within the building are the legislative chambers of Rhode Is. The building is quite spectacular and well worth seeing.
