Lovely gondola ride to the top of the mountain, then a nice leisurely walk around the top before a lovely meal and drink in the restaurant at the top. Then back to the bottom on the Rauschberg bahn

There is a bit of a climb up a hill to get to the park and the first part of the park is for the small kids, which is nice, but is a bit overwhelming at first. Once you get your orientation going, it's easy to find the good stuff. Although it is limited in comparison to other themed parks around Europe, it's got enough things to keep all ages of kids entertained and there is also enough for the adults, who sometimes get too involved. Some rides are aged/height restricted, and the notices were in German, so be aware as some rides could be a bit dangerous otherwise. We were there on a overcast/damp day, so good shoes are a must as I had a small fall on a wooden bridge that damaged my knee - my mistake though. The kids were excited all the way through the park, and they wanted to stay longer, but after a few hours, we needed a break.

The tour in itself was interesting, although entirely in German. We did get to see the ski jumps and the race track/shooting area up close and get to see some people training with the shooting which was all quite nice. The weather was not cooperative that day, so our enjoyment was a little hampered by it.

This is a chair lift which rises from the base station to the summit station by nearly 600 m. It takes 20 minutes to go up or down. For those with a Ruhpolding Extra Card one gets one free ride per day otherwise it is 10 Euros for a "bergfahrt and Talfahrt round trip. If you are keen on walking you can walk oneway taling around 1.75 hours.
At the top there are great views both north and south and plenty of scope for walks of various magnitudes. There is a Café/Restaurant at the summit station and one can sit outdoors and watch hang gliders fly past.
One tip though, weather can sometimes be changeable. My wife and I went up in Sunshine and clouds which remained while we were up the top, but just before we descended it clouded over rapidly and we decided to put cagoules on. Just as well we did as half way down the 20 mins on the chair lift it started raining and we would have got soaked.

Visited and used the Extra card which gives free entry. Friendly lady on reception who spoke good English. The main building is very smart and clean with some displays. Unfortunately there was very little in the way of English translation. There are several old woodworkers huts to visit to give a feeling of how they used to live.

We used this place daily while in Ruhpolding as we had the Ruhpolding card and we could use this place for 3 hours each day of our stay for free. The kids loved the water slide and the wave pool while we enjoyed the outside pools (warm salt pool, and diving pool). It's a great place to come to relax and or enjoy the day, or to top off the day with a relaxing swim. The central location and the views are stunning.

We own a house near Ruhpolding and I decided to go with my boys aged 4 and 6 for a round of crazy golf.
Let´s talk about the good things. The area is clean and tidy. The crazy golf course is average but well maintained.
There is a rating here from a user called khunbon which gives a little bit of a better understanding what is happening. I would not say management is arrogant but at the end of the day it is all about making money.
They leave the impression that they really care for families but when I arrived with my boys I was told I could not go with them on the crazy golf circuit unless I play and pay myself. As my boys are too small to play on their own I was forced to buy a ticket for myself even though I did not want to play at all. I sincerely felt I was pushed for something I did not want. If you are willing to go and play with friends and family you might be ok, if you just want to supervise your children you will be ripped off.
I would suggest you find out for yourself.

We took the chair lift on quite a hot afternoon so there were great thermals and lots of paragliders, The lift was free with the visitor summer card so great value when you stay in Ruhpolding. It is quite a slow ride and took about 25 minutes.

Eingebettet in das weite Miesenbacher Tal liegt Ruhpolding. Auf der Fahrt durch diesen schönen Ort entdecken wir das historische Bauernhauskaffee "WINDBEUTELGRÄFIN" im ehemaligen Mühlbauernhof.
"Extra bavarium non est vita et si est vita non es vita" (außerhalb von Bayern gibt es kein Leben, und wenn doch, dann kein solches) stand über der Eingangstür zu diesem legendären Bauernhauscafé, das wir erstmals im Sommer 1994 besuchten.
Die "Windbeutelgräfin" gehört zu den beliebtesten Traditions-Gaststätten in Ruhpolding. An die 120.000 Gäste kommen jährlich hierher, vor allem wegen dem berühmten "Lohengrin-Windbeutel". Unter den zahlreichen Gästen waren und sind immer wieder Prominente aus Politik, Kunst, Unterhaltung und Sport anzutreffen.
Der unter Denkmalschutz stehende "Mühlbauernhof" wurde bereits 1533 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt und wurde lange Zeit von den Salzburger Fürstbischöfen zur Sommerfrische genutzt.
Seit 1950 versuchte die ostpreußische Gräfin Frau von Sommnitz sich ein bescheidenes Einkommen durch den Verkauf von Windbeuteln zu sichern und fand hier im Mühlbauernhof eine passende Bleibe.
Die "gräflichen" Windbeutel werden auch heute noch nicht industriell hergestellt, sondern wie es Tradition ist, mit der Hand auf gebutterte Backbleche aufgetragen. Bei hoher Backofen-Temperatur entstehen dann aus dem aufgehenden Teig die berühmten Gebäckstücke mit ihren oft bizarren Formen und reschen Krusten. Es gibt sie mit vielen verschiedenen Füllungen und dem "Lohengrin"-Schwanenhals.
Den 500.000sten "Lohengrin-Windbeutel" verspeiste am 25. Januar 1978 der Kammersänger Rudolf Schock.Viele weitere prominente Besucher sind in der Chronik des Haues aufgelistet.
Den 2.410.000sten ließ sich die Eisprinzessin Katharina Witt am 6. Januar 2011 schmecken.
