Nimrod's Lookout

You really get a sense of what it must have been like to live in this fortress with much of it maintained (or restored). Definitely worth visiting and allow at least 3-4 hours to explore properly. Take water- even in December it was surprisingly warm.

Church of Mount of Beatitudes

Reviewed By grip652 - Memphis, Tennessee

Located on the Mount of Beatitudes, this octagonal church is interesting even if it's only been around for about 80 years. Many visitors use the church, and the nuns there will remind you to be reverent if you get too enthusiastic in your exclamations. It's in a beautiful setting, a place you would like to spend more time if there weren't so many people around.

Tomb of Jonathan Ben Uzziel

Deep in the Birya forest is this unique place. Jonathan Ben Uzziel was one of the 80 tannaim who studied under Hillel the Elder. The tradition is that all unmarried that visit his resting place would merit to meet their soul mates and marry within the period of one year. Besides praying at the tomb it is a great place to have a picnic under the trees with beautiful lookout and lovely air.

What a lovely art gallery. I felt like I was strolling through a museum. The art work displayed was incredible. One original piece after another. I especially was fond of the 3-D art work displayed. We bought a 3-D heart adorned with colorful butterflies by Tzuki. It was shipped to us back home and arrived yesterday. We just love it.

Abuhav Synagogue

Reviewed By Buc_Haish - Israel

It's certainly worth a visit. It's larger than others that we visited. It has a notable artistic Totah Ark (for placement and storage of the scrolls). It has a very unique and raised Torah Reading platform (almost 10 rather rickety steps to get up there). Look up into the dome to see the artistic renderings of the Biblical tribes of jacob as well as depictions of Biblical scenes and (maybe) more contemporary historical religious sites.
