We were hosting some Korean students and decided to visit here. It is an expensive experience if you are just doing the maze, would love a family ticket to make it a little more reasonable.
The Gardens are beautiful and the mazes are fun. The tubing is fun for all ages. It is our second time here but probably won’t be back in the next few years due to the cost.

Horseback Winery Tours

Reviewed By Patsyudall

One of my favourite experiences to date in the Mornington peninsular. We booked the 3 Hour horseback winery tour and lunch to follow at T'Gallant. Genuinely welcoming staff from the first greeting at reception, the girls guiding our tour and the winery staff at the stops we visited. I Recommend booking the extra lunch option as we had a table waiting for us at T'Gallant on a very busy public holiday weekend. My husband fell in love with his beautiful horse Toffee and I fell in love with lovely Delihla. Thankyou to all the staff for such a lovely treat

McCrae Homestead

Reviewed By Trennels48 - Melbourne, Australia

McCrae Homestead was built in the late 1840s and is one of the earliest surviving houses in Victoria. It was built by Georgiana and Andrew McCrae. Georgiana McCrae was the illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Gordon - aristocratic, well-educated, vivacious, and a talented (professionally trained) artist - and she left extensive diaries, painting and sketches which document in detail the story of her life in Australia, and the story of the building of her homestead in what was then remote bushland. Georgiana and Andrew had 9 surviving children, two of whom were born at the homestead, and both had good relationships with the local aborigines (Georgiana learnt to speak their language) and so the stories of their time at the homestead are lively, varied and interesting. The homestead once had sweeping view of the bay - unfortunately, due to many subdivisions over the years, this is no longer the case, and the house only has a small amount of garden left around it. But what a treat the house is! The story of ithe homestead's survival until the time it was purchased by a descendant of the McCraes, taken back to its original state and donated to the National Trust is a fascinating one in itself. It's a miracle it survived. You reach the Homestead through a small but beautifully curated interpretation centre which tells Georgiana's story and then the story of the Burrell family who owned the homestead for many years afterwards. The centre has many of Georgiana's original paintings and artefacts, and the Burrell room is full of artefacts, photographs, information and a very good audio-visual display. You must be taken by a tour guide to go through the house which is full of Georgiana's original furniture and belongings (the plans she made of where she placed her furniture remain, so it is as authentic as it can be) donated by her descendants. Our tour guide, Sharon, was fantastic - there was no question she could not answer; she told Georgiana's story with intelligence, sympathy and feeling; she engaged the children by inviting them to imagine what the McCrae children's childhood was like; and she was able to quote verbatim and unassisted from Georgiana's letters and diaries. I cannot speak highly enough of her. She told us many fascinating stories of Georgiana's children and grandchildren - one was at the Eureka stockade, a grandson was the only Australian-born citizen to die on the Titanic. I had a six year old and a nine year old with me on this tour and they both loved it - my six year old turned and hissed at me when we were in the girls' bedroom, 'I want to live in this house!' Believe me, this is not because the house is fancy - far from it - but it is charming, beautiful in its simplicity, and full of the most marvellous stories. Brenda Niall's excellent biography of Georgiana is available to buy at the front desk, as are some charming postcards of Georgiana's artwork. This fascinating, important and moving little place was ours to experience for under $20 (1 adult, 2 children). I loved it.

We take for granted the scenery along the coastline on the southern cost of the Mornington Peninsula and so too many of the ocean Beaches such as Rye, Gunnamatta and St Andrews. Each have great views and rolling surf, sand dunes and great walks. Rye is probably the best swimming beach of most of them with good wide stretches of white sand although there are cross currents and dangerous surf. Go for the beautiful scenery no matter what the weather.

First and foremost, it's natural Hot Springs on a large hill, in a peninsula, in Australia, that alone should be enough for you to tell yourself this is worth visiting.
That said, we were a bit disappointed by the execution of the Springs themselves. Much of the experience felt very fabricated, and the temperature of the pools was a bit lukewarm for the most part (though we did find a few that were hotter).
All in all, I think they've done a nice job accommodating families, couples, and your typical visitor, but I would really love to see this place start to add experiences for the more adventurous--maybe dig a whole to pull up the natural Hot Springwater on the beach (like you can do in New Zealand), maybe a "Wade at your own risk" extra hot pool. I also loved the education provided in the Foot Massage walk and wish there was more of that signage throughout.
I also wish the website was a bit clearer on what to sign up for and the experience overall. For only about $100 more I could have booked a private pool, which I would have happily done, but I missed it on the website.
In general, a fun experience, but not something I would call a "do not miss" when visiting Australia.

Enroute returning from our full day tour in Mornington Peninsula to the CBD, our tour group stopover at Dromana for a short visit to the famous multi-coloured bathing boxes located along the Safety beach.
It was quite crowded when we arrived as it was Sunday afternoon with families crowding along the beach. It has a nice view seeing the sea, with soft and clean sand, cooling and crystal clear seawater, as we strolled for a while before moving up to the colourful bathing boxes for photographing.
The bathing boxes were interesting, of many colours and each is unique in its own setting.
There are also washrooms and cafes nearby and so one can enjoy a coffee break nearby after engaging in the sea activities.

Heronswood

Visit these historic Gardens, home of The Diggers Club and dine in the historic Heronswood House restaurant.

We recently enjoyed a delightful lunch @ Heronswood, sitting outside overlooking the sea far below on a lovely sunny day.
Our food of a Pie Meal ( me) & Fish ( my partner) were delicious & extremely tasty.
Service was friendly & very efficient.
The garden surrounds of Heronswood are magnificent & every visit needs to allow a fair bit of time to feel, touch, smell & enjoy the values of the Beautiful Gardens & the views of the Sea far below.
Whilst there is a $10.00 per person entrance fee - it is well worth the expense.
We enjoyed our lunch & a leisurely walk around the Gardens.
Highly recommended @ any time & even more so on a nice sunny day.

Main Ridge Dairy

Main Ridge Dairy is a goat dairy and farmhouse cheesery. We offer cheese tastings, platters, local wine, tea and coffee and dairy tours some Saturdays (bookings essential). Milking 200 goats on our 130 acre farm, our girls are all named and well cared for. Our dairy was built to be gentle on the milk and all this effort results in beautiful sweet milk of the highest quality. After milking our fresh milk is turned into a range of handcrafted cheeses all produced on the property. Our cheeses include a fresh delicate curd, gooey and decadent white mould, an aged table cheese with a nutty sweet flavor and our very hard to resist award winning marinated chevre (Gold Medal Melbourne Specialist Cheese Show).
