Ride The Tide Surf School

We are a mobile surf school that searches out the BEST waves on any given day for our surfers. The peak winter Surfing months (Nov- Mar) we provide a daily "POP-UP" surfboard rental shop at Freight's Bay where we do our Surfing lessons. We specialise in teaching Surfing & act as surf guides taking advanced surfers to premium Surfing breaks when the swell is just right. Surfing lessons are designed for "newbie" and "wannabe" surfers to find those Surfing wins quickly & safely. We welcome any beginner or intermediate surfer to join our Surfing lessons and boost their wave count, work on their technique & Surfing performance or simply share a fun Surfing session. Our GoPro cameras will take lots of videos of our surfers and all of content is FREE! Our surfboard rental quiver of shortboards, mid-length surfboards & longboards has surfboards suitable for beginners and intermediate surfers as well as high performance and traditional shapes for advanced surfers.

If you are looking for a great way to spend a few hours, keep the kids both young and old busy and to learn how to surf safely Dread or Dead is perfect. Russell, Terry and the instructors didn’t waste a minute running through the basics then getting us out there to ride some waves. Compared to previous surf excursions ( we have done this as a family more than 3 times - 5 kids age 14 to 24 but also saw 6 year olds getting up ) this one was very tame on a beautiful south coast beech. The instructors stayed with the group for the full duration of 2 hours and were very informative and provided great guidance. We loved it and would recommend these guys for their great gear, tremendous patience and eye on safety. Thanks for a great day guys!!!

We were complete novices, in Bridgetown for only a day on a cruise. Barry picked us up at the cruise terminal, ferried us back to the school and then we got set up to go out. Ruben patiently worked with my wife and me on the beach and in the water. Very safety conscious and very interested in figuring out ways for us to succeed. And the whole place emphasizes the importance of having fun and enjoying the experience. Just an excellent experience and we plan to return to finish the challenge of standing up and Surfing.

Bodie rocks. He is easy to get a hold of to book a lesson, he comes prepared and gives detailed on land instructions in an informative and entertaining manner before heading into the water. He even brings Surfing shirts and lends them out to protect against sunburn/rashes from the board. I’d definitely recommend taking lessons with him. The GoPros that he attaches to the board are a nice touch and allow you to post pics and videos of yourself to social media to impress all your friends of your new found Surfing skills :) Freights Bay, where the lessons take place is beautiful and it’s fun to hang out with the turtles while you’re waiting to catch a wave.
