We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of items in this small museum and the professional quality of the displays. The guides were excellent and we appreciated the informality of their presentation. I was impressed by the cult of mourning during this post Civil War period, from the clothing and accessories to the photos of the deceased children. Visiting the museum was well worth the trip.

Many, many guest authors show up to sign their books. We've been fortunate to attend many. My daughter's favorite was Olympian beauty (and fellow skier :), Lindsey Vonn. There were so many girls there. It was such a pleasure to wait in line with fellow fans. Once I saw a line around the block for Dog, the bounty hunter, To each his own!
