We took the kids here during our summer holiday in Ireland and they loved every second! There is something for everyone. My youngest was 4 at the time we visited, and enjoyed all the small rides, especially the ponies and the train. The older kids loved the big rollercoaster. I hated it (but only because I don't have the stomach for these things any more, ha!) We got to go inside the Tayto factory and all thought it was great, and we were tickled pink by the talking tree - make sure you don't miss that! The play park is incredible, too. I've never seen a park as big as that!
The thing we were most impressed with was the staff. They were all so friendly and approachable and we received excellent service throughout the day. The free packets of crisps on our exit was a lovely end to to our time at the park. We will have to plan another holiday in Ireland soon as the kids are desperate to go back to Tayto Park!

Home of the Irish Grand National over the Easter Weekend. 20 days of racing each year a mixture of weekend, evening and bank holiday fixtures of both flat and national hunt (jump) racing. Located in County Meath and just a 30 minute Dublin City Centre. Free parking and great local transport links. Great for family days out, groups, celebrations and private suites. Top class racing year round!

We went here for the Irish Grand National on Easter Monday and it's a fantastic event. A massive crowd and some great racing. The first fly in the ointment was that all the food places seemed to shut down after the main event - despite the fact that there were still 3 races to go. Also, there was a big crowd of young people there who arrived in a terrible state and just got worse as the day went on. This unfortunately resulted in a few fights breaking out just by the finishing line in full view of the stands. Not much was done to stop this with the police just stepping in briefly and then letting people carry on - so the fights started again shortly after. If you're a big racing fan I'd suggest there are better meetings than this one to go to where everyone goes for the racing rather than the fact that it's Grand National Day.

The trip to the Burren Perfumery is very scenic in itself, as it is situated off a winding road. You will be glad you went, for the the quaint tea room with picnic style tables and cheery decor offers a delicious stop before shopping for lotions or perfumes. Enjoy the flowers and peaceful surroundings before going in to either the tea room or shop. We had the vegetable soup. It was quite good, and we enjoyed the brown bread and cream butter that accompanied it. The tea room is child-friendly and the hostesses were very nice. The perfumery has some lovely scents. Frond is heavenly. Enjoy a little stop and shop in the beautiful Burren region. You may not be back that way for a while, and it is worth the time to get there.

My third time being reluctantly dragged along here...I find the food average and I cannot get a decent sausage on a brekkie favourite of Full Irish..they serve Cumberlands instead of our traditional choice...and given I have gone here for a breakfast I find their version of it below par and a good few locals feel that way too but they insist on going back!...Yes it is a busy place and is populated by families because of the petting farm attraction and others seem to enjoy it but for me there will be no 4th time...I have mentioned the sausage travesty 3 times to the proprietors but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears!!..eggs are great though!!!

Bennett's Bar & Lounge

Located just a few kilometers beyond the north county Dublin border, a quiet little hilltop village called Ardcath lies in the eastern arm of county Meath and is home to the locally renowned Bennett's Bar & Lounge. This traditional Irish pub is conservative, yet progressively modern with an atmosphere and setting like nothing you'll find in Temple Bar or anywhere else for that matter. With what some consider the best Guinness beyond St. James' Gate, Bennett's is the perfect place to get cosy infront of it's roaring open fire on a cold evening. Or better yet, if it's sunny out, enjoy our beer garden and quench your thirst with a ice cold pint of cider. Come visit Bennett's today!
