The drive to Jacana Lodge through this forest is great birding territory with many species waiting to be seen. We even got to see the fantastic Shining Blue Kingfisher as well as its cousin the Blue-breasted. Finfoot on the lake. Unmissable.

The guide – Bernard – is part of the Ugandan Wildlife Authority and is a wealth of knowledge. We came upon so many animals on this trek – which could be frightening. But we knew we were in good hands. Before you head down to the gorge, make sure your have put on more bug repellent than usual. Then enjoy!

Kazinga Channel

Reviewed By ernieLoomisCa

We had a small private boat arranged by our driver/guide for $32 p/p.(note this is the same price as other tours) Departed directly from our accommodation. The guide, Martin was a former park ranger with UWA. The company name was Kazinga Channel Beach, Beach Communtty Tourism project. I’m sure the lodge can hook you up if you decide to go with him. This two hour tour was full of excellent information by our well informed guide. Loved the ability to get close to the elephants and buffalo at bathing time, tons of hippos and assorted bird life. While we could give QENP a miss, the 2 hour boat ride was well worth it and the best reason to visit this park
