Jakobshavn Glacier

This glacier is considered to have the highest iceberg production in Greenland, and recent scientific measurements have determined that it has dramatically sped up and begun rapidly retreating over the past several years

This place in Greenland is a Big MUST to See!.I Can recommend a boat-trip out in the icefiord if you come to Ilulissat where you get to See the huge icebergs and Will learn more about the Jakobshavn Glacier from the guide aboard the ship. The ship “Esle” is the biggest and most comfortable to go with.

Disko Island

Reviewed By thorb840 - Oslo, Norway

If you consider to go to Ilulissat, you should take your time to go Disko Island. We took a boat (Disko Line is the company) from Ilulissat to Godhavn. It is worth going there. You will see tons of Ice bergs on the trip, and there is a high chance that you will se whales as well. Disko Island itself is a volcanic Island (the youngest in Greenland), has wonderful mountains. Some of the nature is breathtaking. Higly recommended!

This massive and fast-moving glacier travels more that 100 feet per day, dropping huge icebergs into its narrow coastal inlets.

This place in Greenland is perhaps one of the most amazing places!-the view and mood out there at the icefiord makes me coming back almost year after year. For me-every visit is a new experience; the view changes almost from Day to Day when the huge icebergs drift away. This is one of the few places-Besides in Antarctica you Can enjoy a view like this..

This is the safest option and they have the best systems for online reservations. WOG is owned by one of the biggest players in Greenland's aviation and tourism so if you're worried, don't. I've gotten refunds nearly instantaneously for activities that had to be canceled for weather or conditions on the water. They have one of the best options for helicopter sightseeing. Air Zafari is the other. I had a great experience doing this my first time to Greenland in 2016 and I couldn't recommend this more. It is not light enough outside in Ilulissat to do this in December but check with them. I've done everything from the boat trips to the guided hikes to the northern lights with these guys so I highly recommend them. Their shop is actually quite good too for things like muskox.
