Loved the acrobats, loved the decor of the place. But why put a spot light behind the acrobats during their performance?! It made it almost painful to watch and ruined it! Also drinks were extortionate and disgusting. $8 for the worst cocktail I've ever tasted.

today we were to make this excursion recommended by our hotel. agency run by two very professional and friendly Italian boys. they picked us up at our hotel and took us to the quad garage. we left for the village crossing some beautiful rice fields. exciting visit where we tried the true essence of Africa with a super professional guide. we conclude our tour with a great mojito on the beach ... thank you so much for the wonderful afternoon.
see you soon Rosa and Daniel...

We are a new, small and friendly dive centre situated on the north-east coast of Zanzibar, in Matemwe, near Muyuni Beach, just opposite the famous Mnemba Atoll. Come diving with us and we will show you the exciting underwater world of Zanzibar.
We booked a snorkeling trip via our hotel and they took us to this place which is on the premises of Sunshine Marine Lodge. We are most thankful for the experience. Everything was perfectly organized and we felt taken care of throughout the trip.
Unfortunately my girlfriend got seasick and of course there has been pills on board and we have been able to continue.
They also organized a perfect lunch for us together with the aforementioned Lodge and it was very tasty.
So in my opinion Sansibar needs more of these collaborations to create tourism aside from the large hotels.
Well done and thx very much!

Spent a most enjoyable hour snorkeling the reef around Mnemba and also swimming with a pod of dolphins. The dolphins were actually mostly about 15 feet below us in the water, though I watched 2 ascend, spiraling to the surface. I was happy that they could escape the 15 to 20 people in the water when they wanted. The water was comfortable temperature, the reef and fish were lovely, though not as varied and colorful as I've experienced in Fiji. Still, it was a lovely way to spend a morning. Wear waterproof sunblock and a t-shirt over your swimsuit, this is only about 6 degrees south of the equator and the sun is quite fierce - you can burn quickly!

Are you into beach parties, sufing and water scooters, then look for another beach. Matemwe beach is for relaxing, watching the locals picking sea weed and fishermen sailing their trimarans and for dipping into the sea during high tide (beware of the Sea Urchins) White powder-like sand as long as you can see. Only small resorts and villas hardly visible from the beach. Good for long beach runs or just taking it easy and let your eyes enjoy. No hassle, only a few Masais walking around trying to sell their handicrafts, but never acting aggressive. I really hope that the beach will remain as it is and not turning into what you find elsewhere on Zanzibar.

We really loved this beach, our second favorite on the east coast of Zanzibar. Isolated, yet busy enough to have other options to interact with people than just those in beach resorts. Numerous small beach art stores, kiosks, and even a pet monkey. We drove from Stone Town, 50min, and were able to park 5 meters from the beach, after driving down a small access road through a village. At high tide, there were enough sandy areas where kids can swim without the normal Zanzibar worry of urchins or sharp rocks. Great walking beach, tanning beach, and just hanging out.

Old Stone Town Tour It takes almost 3hrs duration to explore the very fantastic history of this extraordinary site with it's narrowest streets in the world. As a cosmopolitan archipelago, Stone Town prouds of its amazing strong introduction of Indians, Chinese, Oman Arabs, Phoenicians, Sumerians, Persians, Assyrians, Portuguese, Egyptians, Dutch and British Cultures Combined with typical African
We found Panamwe before going to Zanzibar when looking for alternatives to tours offered by large travel companies. Personaly I prefer to pay to the local company contributing to development of local business rather than to international giants. And it is usually win-win as local tour companies are usually also cheaper.
We were on two tours with Panamwe and we go for yet another one tomorrow (when writing this opinion we are still in Zanzibar). They are very responsive and offer excellent service (covering the whole island) for very reasonable price. To get in touch you can drop an email or simply enter their web page and use a chat (as I did). My full recommendation.

Come and discover the amazing underwater world and the bottlenose dolphins at the famous Mnemba Atoll in the Indian Ocean. We are the only the dive operator in Zanzibar to have a dive centre in Stone Town on the west coast where we dive the reefs in front of Stone Town and we can do wreck dives and night dives. One Ocean is in-house with the full dive operation and boat launching site at Bluebay Beach Resort in Kiwengwa and Matemwe Beach Village in Matemwe. Inside Ocean Paradise Resort we have a booking office and pool facility! Kiwengwa and Matemwe are located on the north-east coast of Zanzibar close to Mnemba Atoll, with the best diving and snorkelling spot in Zanzibar! Dive packages can be shared among our different locations to give more variety to our divers. We have very high safety and environmental standards.
Booked a very nice snorkelling trip via our nearby hotel. Professional outfit, with plenty of emphasis on safety which is important. 90 US for two, which included equipment & hotel transfers.
Equipment not brilliant but useable. Marine life & visibility both good, but very crowded with lots of other boats. I've had better experiences elsewhere, but can recommend this company if you want to snorkel in Zanzibar.
