Powhatan is a census-designated place in and the county seat of Powhatan County, Virginia, United States. Powhatan was initially known as Scottville (after Revolutionary war hero General Charles Scott) for a brief time, and historically has also been known as Powhatan Court House and Powhatan Courthouse. Powhatan is named after Chief Powhatan, father of Pocahontas.

After reading about Three Crosses Distillery and the awards they have won with their liquor, I decided to give it a try. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with their descriptions of their liquor that they had to offer. I tried the Shine, a spiced rum and their whiskey. They were all good and I was surprised how smooth the whiskey was so I bought a bottle. Very nice as advertised.

First off, so glad dogs are on leash as there were quite a few walking them during this quarantine time.........WHAT a gorgeous park as it was 80 degrees today on May 1st we are so thankful parks are OPEN and thankful this one has some porta potties open YAYYY. This place has many and awesome trails... turkey trail is in and out of shade and sun.......the bird chorus is awesome, Love bird songs!! My hubs and I will return as we had a wonderful hour and half hike..some trails are bike friendly, some with horses.......it's all good and on the James River so you can drive to a closer lot to park car near the river unless you want a steep climb back up and take the turkey trail.. loved it; good workout!! Also did the woods trail......

Chadwick's was recommended by a friend of mine over a year ago. I have bought several beautiful orchids there, and have left several orchids for care until they re-bloom. Not only is the shop beautiful, and selection of plants amazing, but visiting the shop is an educational experience as well.

Very nice shop, with all kinds of different vendors and so many different things. Some antiques, but mainly handcrafted or re-purposed things, which is nice. I'm not sure why the person who posted they were snobby felt that, because I didn't sense that at all. They always greet you when you come in, and make you feel welcome. Try out the Bourbon Bread and Butter pickles they sell----they are awesome!! They sell Evergreen flags, Simply Southern clothing, and lots of neat things in between.
