Veterans Wayside Park is one of my favorite local parks, and has been since I was little. I had not visited in a while, so I made a stop when I was in the area. A very unique aspect about this park, is that there is a crater-like lake in the center surrounded by limestone cliffs. This location has always been extremely rich in bird life and other wildlife. I was glad to see that there was still an amazing variety of wildlife present on this day. There were Muscovy Ducks, Mallard Ducks, Great Egret, White Ibis, and a Eurasian Collared Dove. I also saw a few turtles in the lake and some anole lizards. This is also a very peaceful place to have a picnic and relax while watching wildlife in many shapes and colors. I will keep returning, and definitely recommend this precious spot to all nature lovers.

This Sunday farmer’s market is a great place to visit to buy fresh products like fruits, vegetables, flowers, plants, orchids, and others, you can buy food to go or eat there and also buy artesanal merchandise. We go every Sunday. It’s an amazing experience. A must go.
