Martin Guitars

Whether making guitars for god (Eric Clapton) or mortals, Martin Guitar does all 300 steps by hand.

Reviewed By Hawkshoe - Pennsylvania

If you have any interest in how guitars are made, then you should definitely head to Nazareth, PA and take the tour of Martin's guitar factory. The tour lasts about an hour and takes you right into the action. You get to see all phases of the guitar making process happening feet/inches away. The only downside to the tour was that the group size is to large so those in the back are left not really being able to ask questions. You do where a headset so you can hear the explanation but If you are in the back, you aren't even looking at what is being described. Also, there is quite a bit of interference through the headset at times. Still, you can get a good feel for the production process.

In addition to the factory tour, there is a museum which is quite nice. It tells the history of the Martin business and has memorabilia. We spent about 45 minutes in the museum. There is also a store and a nice area where you can try out a few of the guitars for yourself.

We were looking for a place for Easter dinner and found this restaurant. I'm so glad we went here.
The food was extremely tasty. There was a great variety for everyone. The staff was very attentive and the dessert bar was incredible.
The chocolate on the fountain was some of the best I've ever had.
We had a party of 7 and none of our glasses stayed empty.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal with a fabulous view.
We will be back.

We were looking for something to do in October when the leaves change and you are tired of going down the shore, we found the online advertisement for the Wine Train in Phillipsburg New Jersey. We booked our reservations on line, received a confirmation for the $35.00 fee per person and arrived a bit early for the 11 AM Wine Train. Parking was no problem and there is Teddy's Restaurant right across the street for a quick bite. We went down the hill to catch the 11 AM Wine train and it was about 10 minutes late.It was no problem we sat at a nice picnic table and relaxed. There were quite a few families with children and they were getting off at the Pumpkin patch, picnic area and the old mine tour. They were on a different train car than the Wine Train. The Wine train people were on a nice quiet car with the option of going to a more noisy car if we so desired.
It was a great train ride along the river. the staff of volunteers were outstanding. come early for the fall/pumpkin trains.because they are very popular in recent times. The real crowds come for the later and later running times. When the Wine train stopped for the trip to the Millagro Vineyards which are located in New Jersey, we were instructed to go aboard the yellow school bus for the trip to the vineyard. .I don't mind a 15 minute ride through beautiful country side to arrive and be welcomed by the owner of this beautiful vineyard. We were given a tour on how wine is made here and then we went to a rustic tasting room . We each received a nice wine glass to keep and we enjoyed the tasting and hour-derives. After the tasting we could purchase the wines and bring them back with us on the train. Many people brought picnic baskets with various cheeses and sandwiches to enjoy with the wine they purchased. There is a picnic area you can be dropped off to so you can have a really nice picnic near the Delaware River. The train returns for you every hour and a half and you can stay at the picnic grounds till the last train which will pick you up at around 5 PM for the trip back to the station. If you never tried the Wine Train I recommend it highly. Don't forget to pack a nice picnic basket to enjoy a really great time here.

We had my daughters 30th birthday at the winery.Audrey was so helpful. She was available for questions and changes . It was such a great time, she had the food catered from an outside source, something many wineries will not do.
The wine was outstanding and very rich.

We toured, stomped grapes ate and drank.

Having a get together call them first.

Today I helped coordinate a group of 20 kids and adults take a trip down the river. The people at Twin Rivers were very helpful and were not phased by a large group at all. One thing to know, though, is they strictly take cash--no credit cards or checks.

Our time on the river was great! Most of us had never done anything like this and some were a bit apprehensive. After our initial squeamishness about the mud and figuring out how to sit on the tube we were all in! We quickly learned it's important to stay in the middle of the river or you get hung up on the rock and slower edges. Some of the kids struggled to steer themselves as their arms were too short to really reach over the tube onto the water. The ages of the kids were 10-16. In hindsight it would have helped if we had asked for tethers to connect adults to kids or at least grouped 3 together because the current tended to separate us and some of the kids got scared.

Once we were all settled we were able to enjoy the beauty all around us including hawks and turtles and dragonflies. It was pretty smooth with a few rapids especially if you go to the right of the large island towards the end. We also has a few of our girls pass the getting out point but a man from Twin Rivers went out on a jet ski to get them.

We were able to shower off and change if we wanted and enjoyed our picnic lunch on a patio next-door overlooking the river. The best compliment is that the kids all asked to go again!

We stopped here after touring Martin Guitars and were happy we did. Took a short walk to see the animals which were all adorable. Everyone in the shop was friendly and helpful. Picked up some cheese spreads which were really yummy and had some delicious ice cream while there. There is limited seating inside so if it’s cold outside and crowded it may be difficult to eat your ice cream comfortably.

We purchased a Groupon and went on a Saturday. The Groupon was good for two take home glasses, two empty 32oz growlers and two 12oz beers while there. It's a really cool place and everyone working there was super friendly and helpful! Right from the start. We also did the 5pm tour (I signed up ahead of time online) and we learned quite a bit. You can tell that the people who work there like their jobs and want quality. The beer is great and they have some local snacks for purchase. We did fill our two growlers before going home. Will definitely go back!
