10 Things to Do in Peschiera del Garda That You Shouldn't Miss

October 28, 2017 Randal Brittian

Peschiera del Garda is located on the southern end of Lake Garda, in Italy's Veneto region. The town's sixteenth-century island fortress and walls are visible today, a reminder of a time when Austria controlled the region. After exploring Peschiera's history, relax with a glass of Lugana, a local white wine.

Gardaland resort is a great place to spend great time with whole family. The youngest children had a good time with attractions designed for them. The older ones - grandpa and parents :) - could collect large doses of adrenaline while riding on roller coasters - incredible infrastructure.
We had really fun staying there!

Visited the sanctuary today and felt compelled to write a review as I was awe struck at the peaceful tranquility of this place. It is beautiful and well looked after by the monks who are always around and available . Candles are available to light for a euro donation and there is a lovely aviary and a goldfish and terrapin pool in the cloister area. The chapel is stunning architecture , paintings , statues and altars. Sit and enjoy the ambience of this peaceful place and forget about the world outside.

The Climb is mostly up ramps inside the tower and a few sets of steps at the higher levels. I would recommend doing the climb in the early morning. The inside began getting warm as we neared the top at about 10:00 am. The views of the countryside are excellent. There are stone benches at each level, if you must stop. Well worth the 5 Euros.

In the second lake the water temperature is around 29°-30°. At the Wellness Centre guests have access to several saunas, steam bath (aroma and chromotherapy), sun shower, whirlpool with thermal water and can enjoy aesthetic treatments and massages. Inside the sports area you will find a fitness room, a thermal pool and a medical centre (osteopathy, kinesiology, physiotherapy and rehabilitation) for Medical Fitness.

The thermal park is great as well as the Gardens are. Note that temperature in the lakes is not homogenous. There might be sectors where temperature is 33-34 degrees (celsius) and sectors where it is circa 38 degrees. Actually notable difference especially when it is not so warm outside.
Personnel could be somewhat more helpful and explain information on lockers and safes more clearly. This might help to the customers who are here for the first time. Otherwise this may lead to some misunderstandings.

Citta Murata di Peschiera del Garda

At the time of Pliny, during the Roman Empire, Peschiera was called Arilica and had already a considerable importance. Later, in the next centuries, it was fortified by the Scaligeri, by Venice, Austria and Italy. The walls were designed by famous architects: a good part of it is the work of Sanmicheli. Today you can find shops, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours inside the pentagon shaped fortress where the city centre is located. Along the lakeside there are many facilities for water sports like; sailing, motor boat rentals, sup and more. Peschiera del Garda has around forty cozy hotels and a dozen of the biggest and best equipped campsites of the lake. In the surrounding area there are both natural parks as amusement parks among the best known in Europe. Thanks to the lake we have a fertile countryside and a very fine wine area, which in the past attracted kings, merchants and cardinals, our first ‘tourists’!

We spent 5 nights in Peschiera DG, using it as our base for day trips around Lombardy and the Veneto. We wanted to stay on the lake but have good links elsewhere and Peschiera worked so well for that. The train station is excellent with direct links to Venice, Milan, Verona, Brescia and other places.
The walled town is quaint with lovely little streets full of cafes and artisan shops. The walls themselves are fun to walk, they give great views across the lake with an interesting history behind them. The river Mincio ends here, so some lovely river walks and views are available too.
The Navigarda ferry stop is very close by, for trips around the lake and the place is very relaxing.

MOVIELAND, THE HOLLYWOOD PARK! 5 studios for a small concentration of fantastic emotions! Unique attractions in the world, with the aim to live again famous parts of the big screen movies!

Visited Movieland in the middle of September and thought it was an excellent theme park- very quirky. Queues were minimal and the rides were very good, particularly Kitt Super Jet, Hollywood Tower and Diabolik Invertigo. Also went to the haunted house which was terrifying. There are lots of shows and the Rambo show at the end of the day was excellent.
Have been to several world famous theme parks before (Disney, Universal, etc.) and still found Movieland to be a very fun day out. Much preferred it to Gardaland.
