Everything about this day was fantastic! We were picked up promptly on time and taken to the family compound. The market experience was great and our guide/chef provided great explanations of everything we saw. He was knowledgeable and a good cooking instructor as well. Everything was very clean and freshly prepared. Highly recommended!

It was quite a surprise to look across our room at Hanging Gardens and see this lit up gorgeous temple (that seemed like something out of a movie/ otherworldly). It is an ancient temple kept up and run by its local community. If you would like to visit it, you need to wear a sarong, as it is a religious site/ temple. The temple caregiver lives on site and is very sweet- he talked with us a bit about the history. We hiked up 10/15 minutes from Hanging Gardens (recommended) but you can get there by road. It is a steep & slippery climb over the holy river. The stairs and gorgeous golden gates in the clouds makes you feel that you have arrived to Nirvana. I prefer this type quiet journey, appreciating the temple & it’s community, away from the crowds at very touristy temples. Grateful for the opportunity.
