Eberle Winery

Eberle Winery is a family-owned producer and marketer of premium wines, representing the Eberle Estate, single varieties and designated vineyards. Eberle wines have showcased the history and diverse flavors of the Paso Robles Appellation since 1979. Gary launched his career as a winemaker and as the “Pioneer” of Paso Robles Wine Region by helping to establish his family's Estrella River Winery & Vineyards. In the late 70’s, he decided to pursue his own project and acquired nearly 64 acres just down the road from Estrella River Winery. Shortly thereafter, Gary released his first Eberle wine, the 1979 Cabernet Sauvignon debuting the iconic boar logo, depicting the German origin of the name Eberle, meaning “small boar.” Reservations are now required to visit and can be made online or by calling us. We have changed up a few things so that we can provide a welcoming and safe environment for wine tasting and bottle service. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Highly recommend visiting this winery! We visited on a cool rainy day and since sitting outside was not an option, they had opened up the wine making room for seated tastings. Our server, Kirk, was a delight. He not only educated us on Eberle wines, but entertained us with some jokes. The wines here were very tasty. We particularly liked the Full Boar Red - especially for the price. The Zin & Cab were quite nice also. Worth a stop while visiting Paso Robles!

What an amazing wine tasting experience at Tobin James! First, I was surprised at a review that said that the winery was not COVID safe. That could not be further from the truth. When we arrived for our reservation, all staff members were wearing masks, our temperatures were taken before we were allowed in, and we were told to please wear a mask until we got to our tasting station. The tasting stations were well distanced along a stretch of long tables. What made this winery the absolute best for tasting during this COVID period is that each tasting area had a staff member that poured whatever wine you wanted from the Tobin James portfolio! Every other tasting we did at other wineries in the area that day only offered flights with limited staff interaction and sometimes long waits between flights. The pours were usually not very generous and because of limited staff, re-pours were difficult. At Tobin James, if you wanted more of what you especially liked, your server was right there and more than happy to do so...thank you Kaye! The wines at Tobin James were outstanding with a good range of different varietals at different price points. I found other wineries had increased their prices substantially from what I remember, so that was somewhat disappointing, and really can limit your wine purchases, especially if you are on a tighter budget. Their Wine Club is really different as well and a real bargain for the quality of wines offered, Thanks again Tobin James for a wonder wine experience and please thank Kaye for us!

Wow, with its spectacular views, knowledgeable and friendly staff, delicious dishes and exquisite wine tasting experience, I’d have to say this is a must do experience for visitors who enjoy the fiber things in life. The entire experience was magical, special and romantic. Loved the story about the French Lebanese family and how the business evolved. Really enjoyed the open seating arrangements, strategically placed so anywhere you sat, the views were spectacular. The staff practiced mask wearing and hygiene safety guidelines. The venue is stunning with its gorgeous wrought iron gate, wrought iron doors and interior VIP room. It felt like walking into a vineyard palace with its interior extravagance and European architectural inspiration. There’s a small parking space but that was totally fine since the experience is so well worth it. Highly recommend! The wine tasting experience was very special and well paced. They dishes were thoughtfully arranged both beautiful and delicious. We had the smoked ribeye salad and onyx mezze charcuterie.

Karla, our wine expert, toured us in the cave and treated us to a fabulous private wine tasting of reserve and library wines, also tasted with a charcuterie tray. Learned so much and found it was one of the highlights or our trip to CA. Tasted a 2016 Rose, 2007 Cab Sav, 2012 Syrah, 2016 Ancestor and a 2015 Tannat. Karla truly knew her wine info and also was a great conversationalist about all things Halter Wine and wines in general. We finished with a barrel tasting of their 2017 Syrah, which blew our socks off!! Cant wait till that one is bottled and available! An excellent and memorable experience. That's what its about- life experiences!!

Estrella Warbird Air Museum

Estrella Warbirds Museum is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of military aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia of those who flew and worked in the military aviation field. Our approach, however, is not to glorify conflict but rather to make a future generation aware of the fact our way of life does not come without sacrifice. Founded over 25 years ago by two men with two airplanes and a strong desire to see an aviation museum in Paso Robles, California, little did they realize how far and how rapidly their initial dream would carry them. Today, located on over 13 acres of land, situated on the Paso Robles Municipal Airport grounds, the Estrella Warbirds Museum is one of the fastest growing non-profit museum on the west coast. The museum has become an intregral part of the Paso Robles community attracting visitors from around the world.

I have been to several museums such as this around the world and this is truly one of the best. It has a very large collection of historical documentation, transportation vehicles, war memorabilia, etc. in a very compact space and yet if feels like it goes on forever. I would definitely take the time away from wine tasting in the area to visit this great find. Seniors do get a discount and it's worth every penny even if you don't.

Sensorio

Reviewed By 530jerrys530 - Carlsbad, United States

OK, you might feel a tiny bit guilty to take a little pleasure trip, but this is worth it! The venue is in Paso Robles and the event is a unique new large-scale art installation, "Sensorio" by Bruce Munro. It's an amazing success, a huge display of solar-powered lights that absolutely overflow throughout a large canyon and fields. The lights change color in slowly rolling waves and the effect is spellbinding, an immersive light show that overwhelms the senses. The installation is as COVID-safe as they can be, with limited attendance, mandatory masks for everyone, social distancing, and 1-way walking paths. We held our breath for this 1st getaway of the new normal, and it was really worth it! Highly recommended. NOTE 1: Limited time offer, limited ticket availability, especially on weekends, If you want to go, book it soon with a VIP admission. NOTE 2: You must find the entrance in the daylight! Your GPS will NOT lead you to Sensorio, it will send you into some remote residential area! Look for a turnoff from Hwy 46, but with an UNLIGHTED sign. ENJOY the show!
