Pakse, or Pakxe (French: Paksé; Laotian: ປາກເຊ [pȁːk séː] "mouth of the river"; Thai: ปากเซ), is the capital and most populous city of the southern Laotian province of Champasak, making it the second most populous city in Laos. Located at the confluence of the Xe Don and Mekong Rivers, it has a population of about 88,000. It also served as the capital of the Kingdom of Champasak until it was unified with the rest of Laos in 1946.

We rented a car and decided to drive up instead of climbing the stairs, went to the main temple for prayers and blessing by the resident Monk. Thereafter, we through the Avenue of Buddha (lots of Buddha statues arranged on a slope steps.
The big Buddha sit majestically on the side and face the Mekong River and Protecting Pakse town. Great photo opportunity.

Cooking class was a great experience which were i learned a lot about the thai-lao-vietname kitchen. The cooking teacher was really friendly, with great english and she answer all the the question i had with great patience. I learn cooking skill which i can easly used back it home. Delicous food. Thankyou so much i enjoy it! Cupjay- Lai-lai!

We did the two day- one night zip line tour out of Pakse.
It was AMAZING!
Breathtaking views while zip lining through the Bolaven Plateau.
There is quite a bit of hiking involved which requires some fitness but honestly don't let that discourage you, it's worth it.
We were glad we only did one night instead of two as we didn't sleep the best in the tree house...lots of noises and bugs- it is in the outdoors right. It was a great experience and definitely recommend it!
The food provided was also delicious!

Such a shame that they decided to take an extra long lunch the day we turned up to do business. The sign said they would be back after one, we waited until nearly two then gave up and went else where. Obviously due to the popularity through these web sites they are not too fussed about staying open as they have plenty of business.

I'd read a little on reviews of this massage service and was very impressed. The Loation owner speaks great English and gives plenty of information regarding options. She checks your preferences and passes on to masseuse. Very professional and clean. I wanted to go back but our plans have changed so am quite disappointed. I'd highly recommend.

Mai was a great organiser managing to fit a very short tour around my plans! In 24 hours I saw some amazing Waterfalls...went to a coffee plantation...stopped at a local village...slept in a tree house...breakfast in a local market...and a trek to an ethnic village. many thanks to my driver for a great trip! I had a brilliant time

You can buy almost anything here food and souvenirs. Busy local market with fresh food. The bread stalls outside were great so fresh.Lots of non food stalls and gold stores as well. Easy to get to by Tuk Tuk from the town and there is always plenty of them outside. I think 1-1/2 hrs is plenty here

Also spelled Tad Gneuang, this is a 40m high, truely picturesque waterfall surrounded by beautiful nature. Be careful when walking down to the pool of water, the steps are slippery. At the entrance to the falls (signposted well on road 16E at Km 40) you'll find food and drink stalls and a restaurant.

There's a small fee require for entrance to this Waterfalls, i find it strange that there is a jewellery store, really ? From the entrance one walk down to the Top of the waterfall, there are really nice ponds and stream of gentle water, where it will fall off the cliff and becomes the Waterfalls.
One can walk down to the base of the Waterfalls but we didnt as we were too tired touring, cramping too much in one day. But it is really nice to be walking at the top of the falls, soaking our tired fees in the cool water.

I have been here before and always find something different to look at. The temple complex is lovely ads there are nuns inside who will give you a blessing(for a donation)
Such a peaceful complex during the weekdays but I can imagine busy at weekends and festival days.The stone village is interesting watching sculptors turn plain stone into amazing statues and the hard work it takes. There is also a Buddha moulding workshop which makes cement Buddhas which is interesting how each piece to put together.
