Piece Time Puzzles

Reviewed By Maurene_K - Dover, New Hampshire

While browsing the shops on Antique Alley in Northwood, I stopped by Piece Time Puzzles. I’d passed it many times driving on US Route 4.

The store is known for carrying a wide selection of their own puzzles as well as others from many well-known puzzle manufacturers.

The unique service of Piece Time Puzzles is that the owners have the capability to turn a treasured family snapshot into a custom-made, personalized puzzle for a keepsake or to give as a gift.

During my visit, I browsed some of their own puzzles of New England scenes. There were also theme puzzles, such as classic cars, autumn, animals, covered bridges, lighthouses, flowers, and more.

There were puzzles and coloring books for children. Many made perfect gifts.

There were some brainteasers. One that caught my eye was an optical illusion. There were three curved blocks. One was supposed to guess which one was the largest. The one placed on the right always looked bigger than the other two; however, when stacked, all were the identical size.

While there, Maude, their standard poodle, wanted to make friends. I got to feed her a doggie treat.

There was also a tent outside that was selling clearance items and used puzzles.

Piece Time Puzzles has something for every puzzler.

I rate Piece Time Puzzles at 5.0. I highly recommend a visit.

Michele's Sweet Shoppe

Reviewed By hac19 - Worcester, Massachusetts

While visiting family in NH my daughter & I stopped into Michele's. We were so excited about all the fun flavors. Of course my daughter wanted to try them ALL (ok - I did too) but I was worried about appearing greedy. Michele was so nice and welcoming. Several times when I told my daughter "no more" Michele would assure me that we were more than welcome to try as many as we wanted. It was such a fun time. We ended up with 5 bags of delicious popcorn (I think we ate 3 bags by the next day). I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Bear Brook State Park

Very well maintained services at Bear Brook, including marked trails up the hill (with benches at strategic locations), picnic area with grills, fields, pond with boating and swimming, restrooms and a store with snacks and gear.

It was a nice stop for a quick hike when we were looking for something to do between breakfast and lunch.

Red River Theatres

We've been to Red River Theatres a few times now and have not been disappointed. The movies screened are both independent films and first run movies. The staff is friendly, and the seats are comfortable. Prices are reasonable, and there is fresh popcorn, etc. - including wine and beer. The only drawback is the lobby; when the place is crowded, it's a free for all.

Rusty Wallace Racing Experience

Reviewed By Emily C

I bought this driving experience as a gift for my fiancé s a birthday gift and had no regrets!
We attended the event held at New Hampshire Speedway, which was easy to find! There was staff all over the property directing us where to go!
The instructor Ken was informative and humorous! He was cracking jokes while also stressing the importance of safety.
When it can time to actually get in the car, everything went so smoothly! He quickly got his helmet and fire suit, then was matched to a car that suited my fiancé's size.
I watched from the bleachers, while my fiancé sped off. My fiancé was BEAMING after his laps and said how he received great direction from the spotters and people who were getting him ready!

My only complaint was the picture purchasing. We had spent extra on extra laps and the video, so we were disappointed that we had to spend so much for a picture of him with his car. I understand that we were also paying for the plaque it came on, but we would've been happy with just the picture itself.

Overall great experience!!

Visited on a very wet day, not terribly busy but think that added to the atmosphere. It was peaceful and calm. All the guides and other staff were very knowledgeable about Shakers and the site in general. Choice of four hot soups for lunch, very welcome on such a wet day.

Jenness Farm

Reviewed By Cindy W - Nottingham, New Hampshire

I went to Jenness Farm this past spring with a friend and her granddaughter. We spent time feeding the goats and chickens, which was a delightful experience for the 4 year old and the "older" adults too. Inside they had many farm-made items for sale and adorable baby goats in play pens. We were told we could hold the babies if we wished; which we did with delight. I purchased some of the best lip balm I've ever used, plus some great soaps. They also had handmade items (hats, mitten, scarves) which were beautifully crafted.
