Liam offers a great kayaking experience on the derwent river. The kayaks are quite stable, the whole experience was quite relaxing. We were lucky to have encountered about 10 platypus in the wild and a few were close encounters.
Liam also serves a nice cheese platter during the tour in a scenic spot by the river.
Overall a great tour. Not many have seen a platypus in the wild, so definitely worth it.

Salmon Ponds Heritage Hatchery and Gardens

Attended recently to a garden wedding. Gardens were beautiful for a garden wedding backdrop. Plenty of parking, flat grounds and plenty of spots to choose from if your considering a wedding ceremony. They have a beautiful auditorium which would be fantastic for an indoor wedding venue or reception area. The only disappointment was the reception area where we were having our food - there were flies everywhere driving everyone crazy!! Would of been great if there were citronella candela out to try and keep flies at bay.

As I write this I am admiring the 1890s microscope I bought at the Drill Hall. It is an outstanding antique shop with a largely kitchen theme. There is no brick a brack here. This is very good quality with lovely vintage copper kitchenware and bottles. Absolutely a treat. Take your credit card!

Tynwald Park

The signs make it easy to arrive to this park. Parking is ample. There are bbq and picnic facilities but no shop on site or walking distance to bring all your supplies as it is a little drive into New Norfolk. There is an educational bike track for children equipped with traffic lights which was very popular with the young ones. There is no shade in this area so if visiting on a hot day bring hats, sunscreen etc. There are two areas of Playgrounds, good equipment and lots of swings. The only negative is there isn't a fenced area around this playground and bike track so little ones need to be supervised well. The toilet block is a little walk away from the main play area, again, an adult would need to go with a little one for safety. A great park that we'll certainly return to as it was a hit!

So glad the owner of the B&B I was staying in told me about this place. Huge property with masses of stall holders undercover. If like me your from Mainland Australia you will be blown away at the great prices. Thankfully I had my car so plenty of room for all my purchases. Great cafe on site. Really worth a visit

Huge collection of antiques for sale, which are grouped into categories in different rooms & parts of the building.
Did not find the staff to be friendly & welcoming, they seemed to be busy packaging up orders, but other than that it is worth visiting to find that hidden gem.

I had no idea this treasure of a shop existed. A high quality vintage stationery, gift, paper, stamps, cards, and cool stuff. It's suitable for all age groups and has a really interesting style. I have become a regular and can't tell enough people about it. New Norfolk is really becoming a place to go to for unique shopping.
