I try to visit Inniswood a couple of times every week to take a walk and take photographs of the changing scenery and flowers. The staff does a great job at maintaining the various areas and the beautiful flowers. Weekends are always very busy, but weekdays can be quiet at times although even weekdays can be busy. I can always find some quiet spots though. My favorite areas are the Boardwalk Trail, the Spring Run Trail and the secret Garden.

Creekside Park

This beautiful five-acre park is the centerpiece of historic Olde Gahanna. Best known for its lovely waterfall, the park invites visitors to stroll the walkways, enjoy a nostalgic picnic, take a paddle boat ride, fish, or wade in the delightful water of the meandering Big Walnut Creek.

Whether it's special events that are held in the area (Corvette and Custom Car show, Blues Fest, Creepside, etc), or just a free live music event, it's a cool place to go.
We walk there and hang out, get some dinner, walk around, have some ice cream, watch the ducks swim around, just relax in general.

Could use a few more restaurants in the area just to add a little more variety, but overall, still a quant little area.

Whether its a family, couples, or school groups there's something for everybody. It's really not cheap for the apples themeselves, but they're HUGE and almost all in perfect shape. You can eat your fill, but one apple is more than enough. The kiddie things cost, but only 2 or 3 dollars.

Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve

Founded in 1973, Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve is a successful effort to save one of the last remaining large stands of woods in central Ohio. The preserve is both a nature lover and bird watcher’s dream, with rare species of vegetation, including some of Ohio’s most exceptional wildflowers, and rarely-seen wildlife. Consisting of more than 50 acres, the preserve offers plenty of scenic hiking trails and areas for picnicking.

Reviewed By Chris2200 - Columbus, Ohio

Gahanna Woods is actually 2 parks in one because the east side is a wetlands preserve and the west side is a walking park. Both sides may be hiked but bikes, dogs and other domesticated animals are not permitted on the wetlands preserve because they would disturb the natural habitat. The west side has nice trails for walking and walking with pets. By making a loop within a loop, approximately 5 miles of trails can be walked without crossing over too much of the same terrain, but shorter loops are definitely available.

This is a great place to walk solo or with friends or to walk your dog. You can walk across the dam to a park, down steps overlooking the spillway and the water feature is pretty spring, summer and fall. There is a walking and bike path along the west side of the dam that goes a couple miles and is well used

Blendon Woods Park

Reviewed By ThreeWiseMen1998 - Columbus Ohio

This park has horrible upkeep considering the park system brings in 25 mil/yr. The trails are muddy as the water sits on them. Fully understandable except this is an urban city park with plenty of money to fix the standing water problem. I would not recommend hiking anytime its not a drought.

Not allowed to have pets anywhere except the pet area which is a swamp from Jan to June.

Too many regulations to enjoy yourself in nature. If you're about freedom and enjoying nature I would visit another park.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a premier botanical landmark and attraction featuring exceptional plant collections, indoor and outdoor gardens, seasonal art and nature-based exhibitions, and a dynamic array of events for visitors of all ages.

Reviewed By virginiagirl2018 - Christiansburg, Virginia

The Conservatory was fairly busy on this chilly Saturday. We began with the butterfly garden in the Pacific Island Water Garden. It was very crowded, as an employee was releasing new butterflies & explaining their life cycle. It made it difficult to navigate the exhibit. We only saw about 6 different types of butterflies, but those were fairly abundant. The North Conservatory with its Himalayan Mountains, Tropical Rain Forest, and Desert areas had a nice selection of plants. We also enjoyed the Chihuly glass exhibits in the various exhibit areas. We stopped for a snack in the Garden Cafe (chicken salad + greens), which was pretty good. It was very windy when we finished in the visitors center so we didn’t go to the outdoor areas. I look forward to seeing those if we visit in warmer weather.
