Belarusian Heritage Village 19th century

Reviewed By Fudgemellow - Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Not what I expected from a heritage village - just a bunch of modern wooden houses used by various craftsmen and merchants to sell their wares. If they'd named this ''Belarusian Crafts & Souvenirs Village'' it would have been more accurate.
Worth a visit if you are looking for handmade souvenirs, but don't expect to learn anything about life in Belarus in the 19th century.

Memorial Complex Buynichskoe Field

Reviewed By Fudgemellow - Eindhoven, The Netherlands

Our main reason for visiting Mogilev - Buynichskoe Field. It was mainly the significance of the place that made it worth the visit. There is not much extra information, there was a small building that we thought might serve as a visitor centre, but it turned out to be something else (though we have no clue what it was). The tanks and other vehicles can be touched, climbed on etc.
The Belarusian Heritage Village is right across the street.

Museum of Ethnography

Reviewed By Laurens H - Delft, The Netherlands

We found this museum by accident - we were walking around Mogilev and saw this big sign saying 'Museum'. We went in and found out the museum showed the ethnographical history of Mogilev and its region. The staff consisted of around eight ladies who did not speak a word of English - yet some words in German helped us as well. We walked around the museum and soon noticed the ladies were very eager to tell us about the museum and its objects. With our basic-Russian we probably understood 20 % of what they told us, but they told it with lots of pleasure and encouraged us to touch some items and take photos.
I would recommend this museum if you are interested in a bit of culture from the region, authentic Belarussian clothing and rituals and old photographs. I must say the exhibition looked quite modern to me. I had a pleasant visit!

Mogilev Fine Arts Museum of Maslenikov

Reviewed By Ivan I - Minsk, Belarus
