The 34-acre Sanctuary and education center offers visitors a place to explore the dynamic coastal environment. An observation deck, boardwalk and overlook offer magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. A 1-mile hiking trail winds visitors across the barrier island, from the ocean to the Indian River Lagoon. Inside visitors can explore aquariums and interactive exhibits, view eco-themed movies in the theater, or shop in the Mermaid's Purse gift shop. The Sanctuary is the environmental education center for the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, one of the most important nesting beaches in the world for sea turtles. Guided sea turtle walks are offered during June and July and a variety of environmental education programs and activities are regularly offered for visitors of all ages. Admission is always free, open Tuesday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Any location that has to do with sea turtles gets 5 stars. There is free admission with a donation if you would like. Small display area with interesting facts. Would have been nice if there was a volunteer there to greet you and answer questions. The observation deck is the best part. The views are spectacular. Would stop here again just for the view. Love the baby turtles !

I've been wanting to do an escape room for my birthday. A year, and 6 months later, I got my wish! Definitely a great time with friends and significant others. It helps you bond and appreciate those you're with. It's a great time especially if it's raining, it would add to the experience! We did the Egypt: Ammons Passage room. It was definitely a challenge. For our first time, we did pretty good. We didn't escape, but we were SO close! After getting out, we all wanted to bring the rest of the family next time!

Turkey Creek Sanctuary

This is a nice place to go for a walk. The trails are in great shape. There are a few that are still being worked but most are open. Plenty of vegetation to look at but we were there in early afternoon and only saw one small bird. We thought that was kind of weird. So it wasn’t great for bird watching but it is a nice place to walk.

This one. Pick this one. What a great contrast with Disney for our out of town guests. Scott will customize your airboat trip around your interests and whatever nature presents. He knows a lot about the flora, fauna, history, water resource and he is just a really nice guy with the ease of an old friend. Bring sunglasses as they also protect your eyes from the wind. Scott supplies the ear muffs - you may want to bring ear plugs in addition. Wild Florida is closer to Melbourne than you may know.

This pet friendly park has paved walkways and nicely placed gazebos. Our latest adventure involves the white duck that has taken a dislike to you dog. Follows us halfway around the lake. Not scary at all, just funny. Also dont forget to walk around behind the rec center and pool area. Great place to see the tortoises.

We go here about once a week. The early crowd, like us, come for karaoke, food specials, or just to people watch. Karaoke on Friday is well attended and fun. Everyone from retirees to motorcyclists come to Lou's. I have heard the late crowd is different, but we are usually gone by then. We enjoy the food, wings, burgers, salad, seafood, sometimes specials like snow crab and babybacks. All very reasonable. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The outside porch, and windows inside, overlook the ocean, one of the few places you can see the ocean while enjoying your evening. Fun place to go.

If you live, work, or visit near U.S. 1 in northeast Palm Bay, this is a great place. I like bringing lunch here and eating in one of the pavilions while watching the fish (including the occasional dolphins) and birds play. There are also short hiking trails, and it's easily accessible by bike.

They have a pier currently partly closed and being repaired due to Hurricane Matthew. The park has bench seating near the river's edge in several places which are great for watching the sunsets. The park has a couple of hundred feet of river frontage. There is a new basketball court, There is a tennis court. There is a large gazebo popular for weddings and there is a large playground for the kids and a bocci ball court. The business area with restaurants, library, and a grocery store are a couple of blocks east. Nice little community with friendly folks.
