The hotel is tired and will be removed from our list of places to stay. The shower barely worked, the plug in the basin did not fit too large, really fun shaving. Bed switches for room broken and safe not bolted in anymore, cupboards. Carpets and rooms old. The planters Restuarant that was brilliant has now moved into the average category at best, breakfast average. But pricing expensive, this is a classic case of something being great and now mismanaged and poorly maintained

We saw everything we had come for Rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra and were in an open land rover, when we saw a tortoise moving relatively quickly. Ah the guide said when the tortoise moves like that we will have rain. We did that is life. Go there whatever the weather.

There are two traditional Swazi craft markets close by - one at the Royal Swazi Sun's entrance, and another along the main road, next to the Ezulwini Sun.

Whilst this type of appearance may have been acceptable 20 years ago, the local tourism industry should do something about the appearance of these markets. The stock is repetitive and prices fixed. These markets are for foreigners who want something from Africa. The dresses were all oversized.

Unfortunately it was raining when we were there so all the outdoor vendors were closed, but there were still enough shops to buy goodies. Our favorite was the Swazi candles, such beautiful designs, and the baobab batik is stunning. The café makes delicious food, so plan your trip for lunch.

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at this old, but friendly and welcoming hotel valley..It is is not luxurious but very clean and neat, and the staff are very helpful. The dinner buffet offers a splendid variety and the breakfasts are good. The atmosphere in the bar is pleasant and relaxing. We can recommend this hotel.

Good food, excellent facilities, friendly service. Animals wandering through the camp, a wide choice of activities, open air dinners overlooking the hippo pool, clean well appointed accommodation, camping and self catering available. Overall a very pleasant place to visit, to be highly recommended.

My wife and I had the very awesome oppertunity to have stayed at this nature reserve once. We stayed in the camp with the restaurant and the oil lamps as they don't have electricity in this camp. The hippos were about 150 meters away from us only seperated by a 4 foot high electric fence. Throughout the night we you could hear them. I sat late into the night at the fire and listen to the sounds of the night. The next day we took a game drive in an open ranger vehicle, got very close to lions, elephants, saw plenty of game and had a great time. I recommend you go there and stay a night or two at the camp without electricity and experience Africa as you should without 21st century luxury.The 8 sleeper chalets were very affordable at R400.00 per night. The restaurant food was good enough for me being the person that I am.
