Great natural phenomenon, rocks are great shapes and forms. I can see why they were used as a Star Trek location. It has an other worldly feel about it. Huge car park too, so that's not a worry either. It's also free and there's a lovely bar across the road.

This Is a wonderfully large sandy beach with access from a few different points along the main road into bahia de Mazarron. Very busy in peak summer months and very popular with families as access to sea is gently shelving. There are a couple of chiringuitos for drinks and snacks. Some peddle boat hire in peak summer months when lifeguards are also on duty. Now - alot quieter and beach almost deserted in this lovely autumnal sun. Sea still warm enough to swim in. A lovely walk around the bay and along the beach.

Oh! Please, I have to assume that the positive reviews are all from people without transport and are stuck in this resort. We did not even take the lens cap off, the beach was grubby, the background buildings are in need of repair and renovation, whilst the distant view is of plastic greenhouses. Less than ten minutes spent here of which eight were walking to and from it.

Parking next to the beach is free so an easy way to take all your beach needs. Lovely walk towards the town which has Roman architectural digs to see and this is marked off yet free.
Lots of fishermen arrive at night and it always looks a pleasant sight. The sand is also stoney but the sea is as clear as crystal.
Nearby are several bars and cafes. Great place to be no matter what season

Bit of a trek to get there down not the greatest of roads. However it is worth it - very clean beach, proper sand without stones. Very busy when we visited, but still room enough to relax. Lots of room for cars. Small beach bar doing food and drinks, and lifeguard on duty.

Lovely beach with gently sloping sands into the sea. No steong currents and perfect for children. Whilst there is a lovely wooden beach bar this is now closed and only opens during peak summer months. Peddle boats available but again only in peak summer months.Can be a little windy on this peninsula..

They have mined this area since Roman times, looking for gold, silver, copper and the main elements, allum, which is used in the making of cosmetics. Best to go with a guide from the Tourist Office as they can point out the various buildings. You would miss the old Roman mines if you went on your own or you would not know that the puddles of white liquid are arsenic! ! Take a camera as the ponds on the south western side can be full of fantastic colours.

Some areas of this beach are more rugged than many in the Puerto. There are rocks in the sea and it can be quite rough at times so beware if swimming. There is a lifeguard close by during the summer months. If you want to swim walk further along where the beach is sandy and the sea generally is not rough. As always along this streatch of coastline the views are fabulous. There is a chiringuito (small bar) on the beach; it serves snacks and drinks.You can also hire sunbeds and there are sun shades which are permanent.

Playa de la Reya has always been our favourite beach in Puerto de Mazarrón. However, the Ley de Costas, which has been responsible for the demolition of some of the beachside houses recently, could actually make this beach less attractive in the future.

Playa del Rihuete is one of Puerto de Mazarron's more popular urban Beaches. There is a long Paseo lined with palm trees that goes all the way from the port along the Playa Puerto de Mazarron and Playa del Rihuete. The Paseo is lined with Bars and Restaurants and is a very pleasant place for a stroll. The beach is sandy and there is playround equipment on the beach. At one end of the beach is the Pentaca club and out of season you can often see them playing Pentaca on the sand.
