Although this review is for the beach at Lungomara I would say all of the Beaches at MDR are worth visiting. Just got back at the beginning of October and the Beaches were largely empty and unspoilt. The sea was so warm and inviting. Planning our next visit back there.

It's a natural reservation situated by the estuary of the Irminio river, between the localities Marina di Ragusa and Donnalucata; where the river flows into the sea.
The river crosses the Province of Ragusa fron North to South; in fact it rises under the Mount Lauro, an inactive volcano that marks the Northern border of the Province.
In the middle of its course it crosses another natural reservation: the Lake of St Rosalia, located in the territory of the Capital town .
The river, in a remote past, was navigable (Roman epoch).
Anyhow, the reservation stands at just 1 Km from Marina di Ragusa, an important touristic town and right aside 2 two large and well equiped Beaches.
The reservation is very easily accessible from the provincial road.

I visited this cafe several times on both my visits to Marina di Ragusa. It's in a great location, serves great cakes and snacks, as well as excellent coffee and drinks. It is slightly cheaper than other places and the staff are very friendly.

This is a great place to go and buy some high quality local products
Starting from the local beer to good wines and chocolates to herbs amongst other items.
Small shop but well worth the time and visit
Particularly interesting are the red orange beer, honey and carob and strong ale versions

entrato solo per un caffè (buono) non posso esprimere giudizi sul cibo (avevo appena mangiato da Pappappero poco più avanti), il locale sembrava pulito, bella posizione sotto il faro, personale cordiale.

Rent Bike and Scooter

We highly recommend renting a bicycle and going along the coast. Firstly, Paolo was extremely kind, helpful and accommodating! The bikes were comfortable to ride, in great condition and were an excellent value. Starting in Marina di Ragusa, we biked along the pedestrian and bicycle paths along the water. When we were needed to cool down, we simply locked up the bikes and jumped in the ocean. We didn't get a chance to do a tour but we biked and stopped all along the way to Punta Secca. Water was wonderful and bike paths and roads were great. It was easy to rent and easy to drop off. Thank you Paolo!

Siamo stati in ferie al DONNALUCATA RESORT dal 10 al 17 settembre e per 2 mezze giornate abbiamo usufruito del noleggio con guida.servizio che L'assistente veratour non ci consigliava di fare, un grazie a Danilo che in 2 mattine ci ha fatto vedere Ragusa, Ragusa ibla, Modica e scicli.la mattina dopo siamo stati a Noto. Mangiato ottime granite, cannoli , cioccolata di modica e fichi d'indi direttamente dal carrettino... Consigliato vivamente a chi come noi ha poco tempo e ha bambini al seguito. Un grazie per aver sopportato i bimbi a volte un po' noiosi.
