Each year I arrange a spring and fall field trip for homeschoolers and I buy a share of this farm for my family. Great atmosphere and Farmer Russ is out and about on the grounds to meet people so you can get to know your farmer. All produce is grown organically and is excellent quality. If you buy a share you can use the card for anything on the farm including the Back Forty, icecream, produce, etc. Support local farms by visiting Vollmer Farm. My kids love the place no matter how many times we go! Great for the whole family!

Everyone loved everything. Literally my only complaint is they got rid of these big lengths of pipe that you could race in, and there's not much for adults to do while the kids are playing - most of the activities are kid only.
Other than that, a great time was had by all.

Alpaca Dreams

**Call or Email to Visit our Alpaca Farm and/or Gift Shop** We are an alpaca farm with 13 alpacas and 2 guard llamas. We love to have visitors come out to meet and learn about alpacas and llamas. We provide information and displays showing how their fiber is sheared and processed into yarn; pictures of our crias (baby alpacas) soon after they were born; pictures of our animals before and after shearing; and other fun pictures from around our farm. We have a Gift Shop with many, many alpaca related items including alpaca yarn (homespun and mill spun), scarves, hats, purses, gloves, books, ornaments, throws, pillow covers, stuffed animals and much more.

I visited Alpaca Dreams during the national Alpaca week. What an amazing place!!! (this is my second review as my first disappeared so I hope this review is slightly comparable) I was pleasantly greeted the moment I arrived by Sarah and Mike and that was just the start to meeting this friendly couple and learning about their animals.

Alpaca Dreams currently has 13 alpacas and 3 llamas to protect the alpacas. They are separated into a girl group and a boy group to prevent any accidents from occuring. These animals are well cared for and have a lot of land to roam around.

Both Sarah and Mike shared their stories about the animals with me and the other visitors that day. They are truly unique animals.

They have shearers from New Zealand who come each year to shear the fiber.

There is even a gift shop with the fiber from the animals so that is a fun place to look around and find those unique gifts. It is warmer than wool and so soft.

I am looking forward to visiting Alpaca Dreams again and visiting the gift shop as the socks I bought keep my feet so warm.

Remember to email or give them a call first before visiting and they will be waiting for you

Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre

Reviewed By Mudduck77 - Macon, North Carolina

Our family enjoys watching movies, but the elbow to elbow experience in a conventional theater when viewing a popular movie can be a little exasperating. For that reason, Raleigh Road is a nice change of pace.

The sound is as good as the sound system in your car, since it plays on your radio. However, if your radio doesn't work or you plan to sit outside (bring your own chairs) then you can rent a portable radio.

Several of the other reviews mentioned the porta potties being a drawback, but there are actually indoor restrooms as well in the area where you pick up your food.

The food is decent, but nothing fancy. The facilities are old, and there are always repairs that need to be made, but the owners don't neglect the place and are always making improvements.

This is not the place to go if you are OCD and the negatives are going to really bother you, but my family enjoys it and we will continue to come back.

AMAZING, EXHILARATING, AWESOME, BEST.EXPERIENCE.EVER!!! I went skydiving for the first time yesterday with a group of friends and I am beyond happy that Triangle Skydiving was the company to make this happen for us. I truly didn't think I would feel as safe and comfortable as I did but the instructors were so funny and just made it seem like we were going for a walk in the park. My instructor Greg, had me laughing the entire time and even though I was pretty scared, his personality really calmed me down. There were four of us and all of our instructors were AMAZING. I've never been so happy to have a complete stranger strapped to my behind all in my personal bubble lol!! Purchased the video... BEST DECISION EVER! If you're doing this, get the video... I mean the footage of this experience is priceless!!! You get a video and pics of like every frame from the video. Shout out to Ann Marie, she was my photographer. This place was great and I recommend it to any and everyone who has ever wanted to try skydiving. The view was amazing, the feeling was indescribable and the landing was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you so much Triangle Skydiving and especially my instructor Greg- I'm glad I really didn't have to kick your butt afterwards lol!!! I'll see you soon because I will definitely be back!!!!

This is great local park to get some exercise, relax or in the spring enjoy free concerts when the Town of Wake Forest puts on Six Sunday's in Spring. They've just added some strategically located workout stations along the several miles of rolling walking trails. Take a few minutes to check out the historic buildings that were meticulously restored on site. A walk (or jog) around the outer loop trail is about 2 miles.
There are large grass areas for letting your kids burn off some energy too.

...on the Neuse River Trail. I bicycle here sometimes. Others enjoy walking or jogging. There's plenty of varied scenery. Bridges go over the river and back. Asphalt the whole way except for the wooden bridges, which can be slippery depending upon your bicycle. So be careful. Benches to relax as well.

When we are out back roading and see a road with "mill" in the name we always turn on it. We really love old mills and sometimes we are lucky enough to find one (that's how we found this). The mill is not opened to the public but it can be viewed and photographed from the road.

Bee’s Knees Country Store

Reviewed By Duquesnegirl - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Stopped here after we were passing by and saw the Old Mill but decided to go into the small store and it was fantastic. There is an area where you can see the bees making the honey as there is a neat contraption that allows the bees to fly into the store box and you can see them working....No, they are not flying around inside the store they are contained. There are so many neat things to buy, jams/jellies for sale and of course honey for sale. There are some really neat items in the store. In speaking with the owner there are many different things that are made by disabled individuals that he helps to support through selling their items. After leaving the store walk over and check out the mill and you can also enjoy the bunnies that are running around on the site. Can't wait to post our pics!

Scenic guided trail rides, lessons for beginners of all ages, pasture boarding, on-site leasing, birthday parties and camps.

Reviewed By BriStev

My friend and I booked a trail ride from C & C Farms while I was visiting the area. What we got was more than just a trail ride, but a wonderful inclusive experience. The trail guide, Tracy was very knowledgeable and friendly. The owners also came by to greet us before and after the hour long trail ride and they were lovely people. It felt like we were spending time with old friends, rather than paying for a trail ride. The horses were well kept, healthy, and great trail horses. They even let us stay after the ride and help groom them and spend more time with the horses. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to go for a trail ride and spend time with friendly people who love horses! I definitely will be back whenever I am in town again!
