I am surprised this is not a very well-known place amongst foreign tourists. I came across it coincidently on the internet and put it on my itinerary to visit. The Shirez canyon is 2 hours West of Khorramabad, towards Kuhdasht - in the Lorestan province. When we visited, there were many people & families camping out there, most of them had set up their tents to camp for many days. We met a large family of Lurs who ended up hosting us for lunch. They were going to camp out there for 2 weeks. You can hike in the canyon for many hours, and the scenes are really awesome. I'd definitely recommend visiting it for a day trip.

afte 70 km driving in winderful road in summer andhot weather you can cool down in bishesh waterfall and river , best time to visit is spring, three waterfall in same road check it all

There's a nice fort on hill that shows many years ago there was a great local empire here. Actually this place located in the heart of beautiful city with kind people also before get inside the fort you should pass a beautiful green garden (Golestan garden). All this fort is a anthropology museum, nice to familiar with lifestyle of that local and staffs from 1-2 millennium bc, history and antiquity you'll face. Symbols and signs, bronze statues, miniature statues... unfortunately, they banned stairs to top roof.

Gahar is volcanic lake in doroud city in lorestan province in west of iran.water of this lake come from snow of climax although so clear and so cold so that you can swimging roan fish with red spot and fishing. Road to this amazing and virgin lake from doroud you can go with car to foot of mountain after that you must 3or4hour hike a up and down hill road.
