Dolphin Dive

I recently took a refresher dive and then did another three dives with Dolphin Dive. Great fun, very professional and good equipment. Our guides were very knowledgable and were able to pick out some of the smaller interesting features of the reefs. The groups are kept small so that everyone, all abilities, gets to enjoy the experience.

I took the diving day with my girlfriend because we have not any license. The instructors (Marian & Lulu) are friendly and they helped us for everything. I wanted to propose the engagement to my girlfriend during the diving and they (Alberto too) help me to prepare it and they taked a video camara to record this moment. Luckly, she said me yes!!
Moreover we saw a lot of fishes, sharks, lobtsters and more. I highly recommend to book your diving experiences with them.
Thanks for all!!

The outdoor, second floor studio over looking the Caribbean Sea in the middle of the hub-bub of Little Corn Island is the most tranquil place I have ever practiced. The clean mats, fresh salty air, humming of local banter and experienced instructors make this 75 minute class a must do while visiting and is totally manageable for all levels. I found a sanctuary with in Funk and can't wait to practice with Jacq & Kelly again. For the three months that I spent on sabbatical I made "Yoga Everyday" part of my routine---both instructors took the time to help my practice and increase my strength and skills. Either the 9am or the 4pm are the best addition to island life.

Fly Fishing Little Corn

If you've ever been fishing for Bonefish you know how illusive they can be. I don't know how our guide saw the school we were fishing into (I could not see them) but sure enough both of us were able to catch one! This was one of the most surreal and relaxing days I've had during my travels. There is nothing like fly fishing in the Caribbean with the sun on your back. Our guide made the experience 10x better than it would have been by ourselves.

My friend and I went to Little Corn especially for the fishing. Unfortunately, the wind blew 20-25 knots the whole 11 days we were there in late February and early March. However, we did go fishing four times. Here are some comments about the experiences:
1. Alfonso. Charged $150 for two (4 hours) after first asking for $100 each per hour per person. He was obviously knowledgeable about where to fish, but his equipment was very poor. He did not even have a knife to cut bait for bottom fishing. No life preservers, no water, no emergency signal except cell phone. Caught one 4 pound barracuda trolling and a number of bottom fish. Would not use again.
2.Elvis. Pretty much the same as Alfonso but he charged only $100. He had only two rods. One very large, heavy duty and one old spinning rod with a right hand retrieve for left handed people. Caught bottom fish. Several trolling strikes, no catches.
3. Captain Willy. Best equipment of all the native guides. Boat was a bit smaller at 19 ft boat had a nice padded seat which was really appreciated. Charged $100 for both of us for 4 hours. Again, a few trolling strikes, but no fish except when bottom fishing. I caught a 10 pound shark on my light spinning rod. We cooked one of the fillets and it was quite good.
4. Captain Chris. An American living on the island has a well equipped boat and is very experienced. Charges $150 for two for 4 hours. He has a 4 cycle (no fumes) outboard and excellent rods and bait. He only trolls. We trolled all the way around the island and caught one small King Mackerel. Again wind was strong and the seas 6-7 feet.
If you are a serious fisherman, you need to bring your own fishing equipment for all except Chris. You may want to bring a life preserver as well and a pad to sit on would be great. Plan on bringing clothes that can be wet as the boats are not very dry. If you take a tendency toward motion sickness bring some pills to prevent it. Fishing is supposed to be good for Dorado in late April and May. Weather may also be calmer.

100% do this trip but other boats are available at the same price.
