Our group had a morning tour of the estate on our first day in Moscow with Exoticca. It's outside the city and initially I had wanted to spend more time on the iconic sights in the centre. However it turned out to be fascinating and provided a great introduction to Lenin. The estate contains a number of attractive buildings within a parkland setting and it has been preserved as it was during the time that Lenin was here in the last few years of his life. A really surprising highlight was seeing his Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, modified for Russian conditions and complete with skis and caterpillar tracks!
