Bahay na Bato

Beautiful entrance and throughout with small stones that encompass everything. Stones etched on the walkways, buildings, artwork, and all along the ocean shore. Inside the house were beautiful artwork some out of the stones while others made from wood and other natural items that are found around. I have heard is now closed from my relatives that visited at end of July 2017 and the Facebook page. I hope they reopen so that all can experience this natural beauty and enjoy like I have.

Tangadan Falls

I wouldnt lure you by saying that at first we thought after a very challenging ride/jeepney top load, you'll get to Tangadan Falls right away coz no, the challenge is not yet over. You need to walk for about 10-15 minutes still before you get to it. But I really do love it, plus the extra cardio hehe. The water is greenish and clean and there are available life vests for 50hp and balsa as well that u can rent for 300php. I was made "kilig" by the coldness of water and one local even said "kasing lamig pa ng ex mo" lol.

Ma-Cho Temple

We went there around 4-5pm so the sun was almost going to set. The place was so lovely. Like you have been transported to another place. You need to be quiet because it's a temple. You can also pray the Taoist way just read the instruction how to light the insenso and which way to face to pray to their Gods.

Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Charity

This might be the most beautiful church we visited.
You definitely can feel that old, religious vibe going inside. Lighting was natural and it was really nice inside. It retained the old brick structure and it is very well-maintained. Around the side is like a small park where you can definitely have some quiet time.
This is a very lovely church.

If you are looking for a place to spend with your friends and family, this is the place to be. For those adventurous type they offer ziplines with three different stations, rapelling, Wall climbing, atv, giant swing, paint ball, kayaking and canoeing. You can pay each activity ala carte or buy the Package Deal and save some money. And for those who wants to just relax at one of seven pools, you can do so with a few per person. You can bring outside food and rent one of the many types of Kubo depending on how many are in your party. They place is very expansive, can accommodate big party and it does gets very crowded on weekends and holidays. You can even stay overnight at their own hotel room.
It was definitely the highlight of my vacation and experiencing the thrill of zip lining. The staff does a very good job, they are very friendly.

When you enter the municipality of Bacnotan, charter a tryke driver to take you to Carcarmay Elementary school. It is about 7 kilometers from the poblacion but the drive was quick.
This centennial tree is located at the heart of the school grounds. It is so magnificent and huge I was happy I decided to see it. The tree and its leaves and branches envelope us and give a lovely cool shade. You can sit down, and rest, and just marvel at the magnificence of nature.

Next stop was Our Lady of Namacapan Church, aka Santa Catalina de Alexandria Church, in Luna La Union.
Unfortunately, it was closed around the time we came (noon). TIP for those church hopping and it's not during Holly Week, try to get to the churches early morning or late afternoon to see them open during mass.
Nevertheless, we were able to enjoy the architecture and beauty of the church. I really love its light blue painting.

Gapuz Grapes Farm

Reviewed By kasaysayanm - San Fernando La Union, Philippines

On a getaway mood from the touristy Baguio, we tried the Gapuz Farm in La Union. Locally grown grapes that kids would pick and pay. Other locals have their own grape farm nearby so we also visited and bought a few fruits & vegetables from their farms. It's an experience fro kids to see possibilities of establishing their own even if they have to start small.
