Blue Bird Cocktail Bar

Reviewed By Jen7ify - Oxford, United Kingdom

I'd heard about this bar, but managed to visit for the first time recently.

Really interesting cocktail menu from the owner and his wife, who I understand have spent time in Hong Kong perfecting the art. It was relatively quiet when we were in, and the guys took the time to stop and chat and explain about a few drinks, allowing us to taste several things.
I particularly enjoyed the Tequila cocktail, but they were all pretty great!
I will be back as I am going to have one of each over time :-)

We visited the facility last week as we needed a day off skiing. The facility itself seems well kept and clean. There are different baths to try of varying temperature and feature. The problem was that the baths were completely overcrowded to a level of awkwardness. Worth a visit but don't expect to stay longer than an hour.

Cite Vauban

Reviewed By Chip1701 - Plymouth, Minnesota

If you are traveling to Briançon anyway, you should definitely take some time to wander around within the walls of this old fort area called Cité Vauban. It is impressively massive although there is not much to see within it- mostly tourist shops and restaurants. The local TI will give you a map with a self-guided tour that takes about an hour. Our opinion was that the best parts were the walls of the fort itself, and the views of the surrounding Mountains and into the Valleys below. There is a guided tour to some of the other fortifications above on the mountainside but only in French.

Fort Du Chateau

Reviewed By ruth h - France

We decided to visit the fort instead of skiing that day.... what a disappointment... we arrived at 1.30 to find everything closed.. we made our way up to see the fort, no signs and ended up around the back to find a private property sign, so made our way back .. we managed to find another way .. by this time it was after 2pm so expected it to be open but we found it all locked.. there was no signs saying what time it open ...the last part of the climb was very slippery as it had not been cleared or treated. We made our way back down the path which was super dangerous..we passed another group of 6 people and warned them not to go any further as everything was locked up. We finally got back down to the village and went to the tourist information which was now open , they explained that the fort was not open and we inquired why there was no signs to explain this before people made the climb up.. we just got a shrug of the shoulders ...
By this time we had had enough and decided to leave.. what a waste of a day.
Finally , you have never seen so much dog poo in all your life .
