It is simply beautiful to walk through this national park, through the trees and primary Forests, watching katuns, sheep, and shepherds. Locals are very helpful and offer food. Though there are trails through the park it is still very pristine and green. The trails are all well marked with signs.

Biogradska Gora Lake

The Lake is 1.100m long and 410m wide, and it is extremely abundant with fish, especially trout. During the spring and summer, the best way for you to familiarise yourself with this area is to walk down a 3km long walking trail surrounding the Lake. During the winter, the Lake surface freezes over and it is often traversed by deer and hinds.

Reviewed By KDavies99 - London, United Kingdom

Lake is very pretty and there is a short 3km walk that is enjoyable. €3 entry to the park. Drive up the hill to the lake rather than leave your car at the bottom. It's quite a trek and costs no extra although parking at the top is limited.

Biogradska Gora National Park Visitor Centre

The National Park Visitor Centre is located on the shore of the Biograd Lake. It has an interactive presentation, as well as with a set of exhibits which represent the most important natural and cultural values of the Park.

Reviewed By David B - Coral Gables, Florida

The visitor center is a bit small but the exhibits and staff were fine. There you can learn a bit about the wildlife in the protected woods. The only drawback to its size is when tourist busses come in. The facilities and the boat dock get a bit crowded and multiple busses can arrive at once.

In the small town of Kolasin that was a battlefield during the second world war, there is an impressive small cemetery that commemorates partisans who fell in the area during the war. Simple, clean and well kept leaves you with admiration to the only state in Europe who won the battle against the Nazis by itself (with technical and operational help of the Allies - but the fighting was done by the Yugoslav people themselves under the command of Tito)

The meeting with him adds a lot to the small charming garden that offers big variety of plants from all over.
