Sone Chandi Ki Haveli

Reviewed By LetsGoSightseeing - Noida, India

There seems to be a lot of confusion in the listing of this attraction. Our research shows that this listing alludes to Kedar Mal Ladia Haveli in Mandawa. The golden painted room in this Haveli is the attraction. The golden room is a result of competitions to build the most opulent havelis. Even the main gate leading inside is grand. On the second gate, a form of stained glass greets us . This is another exquisite part of the Shekhawati havelis - Belgian glass. Once inside, I see scenes from India scriptures come alive on the walls. Scenes depicting Lord Krishna, His childhood antics, His leela with Radha etc. The gold paint has peeled off in places. But it gives you an idea how the room would have looked when it was intact. Also, colors still make the room lively. Fair to call this a one-room museum!

I visit this temple every year for darshan of our Almighty, our Divine. One feel blessed when you are inside the temple specially when you are at the mandapam in front of Dadiji. Temple provide very good accomodation at a very reasonable price. Have different categories of room and one can choose according to their pocket. (From Rs 100 per nt to Rs 900 per nt). Rooms are provided for 24hrs duration. Also have an in house canteen . Food is awesome. Prasad is also offered as lunch and dinner for a very reasonable price of Rs 50 per person only per thali (unlimited, one can eat as per his or her hunger and appetite). Must must visit place to seek blessings of God. I am blessed.

Dundlod Fort

Reviewed By Healthtouch - London, United Kingdom

If you love India and you ride well this is the trip for you. My daughter and I arrived at Dundlod Fort from Jodhpur the day before Diwali in preparation for a week long horse safari. We met Bonnie, Mahendra and Sunayana and were given a tour of the stud farm after lunch. That evening we were treated to a candle lit supper on the roof of this magnificent old Fort. Bonnie is a charming host and passionate about preserving and promoting the majestic Marwari horses. The next day nine fellow travelers arrived and there was an official welcome fit for a Maharani. As it was Diwali there was cause for celebration with a puja and fireworks after dinner. Dundlod Fort is Bonnie's home that caters for guests. Our room was huge, with a dressing room and bathroom. It was unique and comfortable. There were 11 of us on the trip for the full 7 day safari – each of us were given a horse that fit our skill level and even our personalities. Everyone on the trip rode well and our group got along famously. These exquisite Marwari horses are soooooooooo well looked after, are super fit and very well mannered. The whole safari ran like a well oiled machine. The food was fresh and delicious catering for vegetarians as well as meat eaters – the support vehicle was always just behind us making sure everything went well and we were all safe and happy, our luggage was in our rooms at each destination when we arrived, there was plenty of food, bottled water and sodas for us at each stop. After about a 3 hour morning ride we would stop for lunch at a shady destination to find it all set up and ready for us. There we would eat and rest in the hottest part of the day followed by a 2 hour ride to our night time destination. We went to Rajasthan in October when it was still a very hot 41 degrees so cool clothing, sun hats, sun glasses and plenty of water are a must. The camping element of the trip was in the desert where the nights were cool and extra clothing is a good idea. Talking of camping – this is camping in style – real beds, mattresses, pillows and comforters all provided, not to mention hot showers and even a flushing loo........... Again incredibly good food, camp fires and beautiful yurt style tents. This is not a trip for novice riders but if you ride well, enjoy long canters, India's beautiful, interesting and varied scenery you will certainly enjoy it. I cannot praise Bonnie and his team highly enough for a very well managed, friendly, exotic and fun trip. Thank you all so much for making this a holiday to remember.
