10 Things to do in Jeffries Point That You Shouldn't Miss

August 14, 2021 Chanda Heide

Walk the Freedom Trail the first time you visit Boston and you'll quickly get a sense of this coastal city's revolutionary spirit and history. But make sure you also explore some of Boston's fine museums (try the Isabella Stewart Gardner, featuring masterpieces displayed in their collector's mansion) and old neighborhoods (like the North End, Boston's Little Italy). You can't claim to have experienced real Boston culture, though, until you've watched a Red Sox game from the bleachers.

Downeast Cider House

We had nice tour and samples at Downeast Cider House. Maggie our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. We used Waze for directions because it’s a little tricky finding the warehouse. We went on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking. Highly recommend and only a 10 minute cab ride from Copley or Kenmore Square.

Piers Park

I took my elderly parents here, and it was really nice to see how the city of Boston has turned this area into a beautiful spot for all ages to enjoy. The views of Boston are amazing, and the park is not only well-maintained, but safe (police present). The picnic tables, playground area, and rest rooms are right near the parking lot, so it's convenient for families with small children or those with mobility issues.

Take the Water Taxi from Long Wharf North ( next door/Northside of Long Wharf Marriott) to Logan airport for $15 per person. Not marked at all, so Walk down metal ramp and call 18 on taxi phone if no taxi is there . Very small boat... runs year round . Takes 15 minutes, drops off left of Hyatt, and at a free airport shuttle bus stop! A wonderful hidden gem in Boston !

Rowes Wharf Water Transport

We had a few hours layover in Boston, so we took a taxi to this water transport, where it took us across the river to Boston where they stored our luggage while we explored the city for a few hours. Picked up our luggage, took the water transport back over, then a taxi back to the airport. Nice boat ride! And a great option to be able to spend our hours exploring.
