It is a cultural city where art, writing, painting, theater and history predominate, in addition there is a growing tourist and hotel offer offered for the whole area. This city has a very warm climate, so I do not like going there so much. On the other hand, this draws the attention of tourism given its colonial history, its Spanish past, and its landscape riches. One of the places I liked the most was the "Laguna de Yahuarcocha" because it had many interesting things and you could breathe a pure air, however in the end this place has become a place full of garbage and the lake looks very polluted. A good option is to visit the viewpoint "Arcángel" where you can see the whole lake, has a very attractive view but does not have many interesting things in them. One of the places I like to go to in Ibarra is the "Laguna Mall" because it has many fun and updated shops, I love going to the movies there, I also like to go eat at "Mote Loco" because it is very delicious. I usually go to this place for my studies but I hate that it gets very hot. :( !

This museum was one of the best I have ever visited. Through dioramas it shows how the first Ecuadorians lived in caves along the ocean and from there became more sophisticated with farming and forming communities. Then came the Incas to form larger areas. The people prospered and mined gold, silver, precious jewels. This museum has it all from pre-Columbian days until their freedom was won from France in 1839.

Star Cinema is a pretty place in Ibarra for watch movies of first quality. This business of film projection are directed for all public of all ages. They are based in the service of high quality with the best technology of projections in Ecuador. They are also engaged to create unforgettable emotions for their customers. They have a famous phrase “THE MAGIC CINEMA IS ALREADY IN IBARRA”.
Star Cinema is ubicated in Ibarra, in Mariano Acosta and Fray Vacas Galindo. Their attention schedule is every day from 10:00 am at 22:30 pm. The customer’s don´t have any complaints. But they should beef up their security because there are people who annoy to others people. To finish I recommend this cinema, in my opinion is the best in Imbabura. Watch movies in this place is the best experience.

When they decided to close the Ibarra Airport, the government created a tremendous park to cover the airport area. It has play areas, Fountains, areas to ride bikes and more. Great place to people-watch.

This nightclub is located in the center of the city of Ibarra. A typical place in Ibarra for departures on weekends. Good and varied musical mix. Before 10 pm entrance fee is paid, the liquor is in various presentations from shots to fish tanks. The attention is until 2 am. The place is very wide and has different zones according to the value that is paid at the entrance. The attention in the place is regular since the security guards believe the owners of the disco and do not give a good deal. The gentlemen who sell the liquors are not friendly to customers. In addition that the prices of the drinks are very expensive. In my opinion is a good place to enjoy and have fun in the company of friends, because it offers good music and fun in their different rooms. I would recommend that the staff working in this place be more friendly with their customers and the place would be excellent.

This place have many things for do , you can see the whole city of Ibarra with its population growth, direct view of Cerro Imbabura, Guayabillas Protector Forest, left side view to the Yahuarcocha lake. San Miguel Arcángel is considered by the residents the patron and guardian of Villa de San Miguel de Ibarra.
This place have a big monument built in honor of “SAN MIGUEL DE IBARRA” in to there are steps that allow access to a small balcony.
This place have to many tends where have crafts and traditional food and around this place have a varieties of hotels and cottages with a good price
I recommend this place for people who like to admire the city and nature together and pass relax time and you out of routine,
Also this place is good to pass time with the partner and admire the sunset
This place is a goos place to take a lot of photographs with your family or if you are painter, you can paint a beautiful picture

This small village is half an hour from Otavalo.
