An English-style park surrounds this romantic castle, rebuilt in the Tudor style during the mid-1800s. The castle interior features many objets d'art, paintings and tapestries from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Completely renovated/ rebuilt in the Gothic/Tudor English style by 19th century Schwarzenbegs, this wedding cake of a castle is a real contrast to others in the Czech Republic. We went on the English language guided tour of some of the inside Schwarzenberg rooms , which we greatly enjoyed, but , like all such tours, frustrating because too short and not enough time to take everything in, but at least, keeps the big bus tour groups outside, where they take selfies etc. Really enjoyed walking around the outside of the castle, especially with the three storey cast iron verandah on one end. Another lovely experience in the Czech Republic.

The bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral was under construction from 1550-1577. At a height of 232 feet, it offers sweeping views of the Bohemian Forest and the Alps.
The Black Tower is situated just next to the main square. It's definitely worth visiting as you get the best view all over the city. It's also a nice experience climbing it, however you have to be very careful as in some places the stairs are extremely steep.

Very serene and scenic setting with great views of the Hluboka castle across the water. Fun place which was very well kept, with plenty of interactive activities for small children (even a petting zoo). The cost was quite reasonable, even for the food, and overall, it offered a very nice respite for kids being dragged along to see tons of Castles and Breweries along a trip. This is no large zoo - there were animals, but not a treasure trove of different species and types of animals in the many famous zoos, but it was a cute place. The boardwalks above the water were an especially nice touch.

This cobblestone market square, one of the largest in Europe, is lined with magnificent baroque buildings and 18th-century arched and barrel-vaulted arcades. The Fountain of Sampson stands in the square's center.
Like other reviewers we really loved this Namesti for its great size, for the beautifully preserved and restored historic buildings surrounding it and especially for the total lack of tour groups which plague public spaces in Prague. The very impressive Samson Fountain was not operating while we were there but still a great focal point in the centre of the square. The Renaissance town hall is a stand out feature. Lots of cafes and restaurants under the medieval arcades. A lovely town centre.

Had been here 21 years ago, and now back with the whole family. Hluboka Castle definitely is one of the most attractive looking Castles that gives you a fairy tale feel. Many cartoons must have copied architectural design ideas from this beautiful and classic castle. The views from the tower was also magnificent.
Worth a visit even though it took quite some time by bus starting from Ceske Budejovice. Bus to the castle can be taken from the top floor (or roof) of the main CB bus terminal building, the same place that other long distance buses depart CB. Beware that for the return bus trip, some buses stop at the same bus station that we alighted for the castle while others stop at the bus station on the opposite side of the street. We did not take a taxi, as the insane taxi driver requested for an outrageous fee that was raised even higher when we asked for a reduction.

The Czech brew was originally manufactured at this site, which is open to the public for tastings and tours.
The whole Czech trip we were on public transport, so google maps were our guiding star.
Cesky Budejovice to the brewery location the trip was a little tricky, since google maps stopped showing the public transport options we were like stranded in the bus-station and forced to take a taxi. Taxis are available upon booking over phone and it was bit difficult to communicate with the taxi operators.
We were 2 adults and a child booked a private tour and Jewel was our guide in the Budweiser Brewery. She was super friendly and informative. We learned on the history of Budweiser and understood which is the real Budweiser. The infos on the malt fermentation, yeast adding and differentiation with pale and black beer was fun. And we enjoyed the fresh beer directly as well !!!
The production chain, packing and labeling of the cans were fantastic !! We enjoyed it !!
And dear Jewel, me and my family thanks you for the help that evening. You came with us all the way to the bus stops and educated us on the roots - it was a real help, since my guiding star - the google maps was not functional !!
Thanks a lot dear !!!!!!

One of the most significant art museums of the Czech Republic, known for its gothic arts' collection. Through the year, AJG offers many different Exhibitions and events.
The South Bohemian Art Gallery near the Hlubovka Castle provides a remarkable space dedicated to art. The permanent collection mixes Middle Age and Renaissance (mostly religious) art with modern 20th century Czech art in a dialog that shows that there are no time borders in thematic and artistic continuity. The current temporary Exhibitions are also remarkable. The space is generous, the presentation excellent, and the taste of the curators seem to be high class. A place that deserves more fame.

This 18th-century Fountain, located in the center of one of the largest squares in Europe, once served as Ceske Budejovice's main water supply.
Almost May and it was not working. The place is havily sunny in summer and I can only imagine that the fontainse is helping to survive the hot days
