We belong to the English Heritage so we thought we would take the children somewhere we all will enjoy, but to my shock I still had to pay to get in to the museum part even being a member of the English heritage we got a percentage off the price I wasn’t to impressed with that part .
The rest of the day was brilliant we all learned so much you g and old .
If you don’t want to go into the museum part there’s lovely walking fields to have a lovely countryside walk with or without your dog/s .
Your tickets last for a year to come and go over the year once you have paid to get in so that’s good also

To the Manager... noted your comment re my feedback but to suggest that I had received chili con carne by mistake is ridiculous and insults my intelligence. I do know the difference between these two dishes. To put it simply I either had chilli in a lasagne that you deny or pasta in a chili con carne. An apology and acceptance would have simply dealt with the complaint.

Love this place, books about everything you could imagine. If you really like browsing then you could be here all day!! The only letdown, for me and other people who’ve mentioned it, is the lack of Butter in the Coffee Shop attached. I love to lunch there but can’t have a Baked Potato, Scones, Teacakes or bread, with soup, because Butter isn’t provided. I don’t mind Clover or any margarine in cooked foods, but not for spreading on the foods I’ve shown. It won’t stop me visiting this great place but I can’t have, what I want for my lunch, for the reasons said. Please, whoever is in charge, get your act together!
