The Yuanzueishan Trail is approximately 3 km long. This is a thrilling summit-ascent route that is divided into three parts, including forest trail, moss-covered primeval forest pathway, and natural rock walls. A hike-and-climb route with great variation, the first half of the hike features stair ascents and original forest. The second half features fast-rising altitude and then encounters rock walls, with knife-blade vertical cliff faces of almost 90 degrees.

It's impossible to visit during years ago until the construction of roads and farm. Accordingly the clear landscape and lovely mountains are disclosed to public. The landscape is still luckiy remained natural and fresh worthy to visit for rejuvenation.

An amazingly unforgettable pureland with fruitful ecological environment , colorly beautiful landscape and unique culture. We're lucky enough to have the availability to visit, thus with more energy and confidence to move forward to new year. We'll certainly come again asap, at least once a year to welcome the Spring.

Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area nurtures a wide variety of wildlife and plants. It is internationally famous for bird watching in the middle altitude region. The red maples in autumn and winter, the starry sky on summer nights, the sea of clouds in the evening, the muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi) and Mikado Pheasant (Syrmaticus mikado) wandering through the forests and along the trails, and thousand-year-old giant Taiwan red cypress are the most appealing scenes in the Dasyueshan National Forest Recreation Area.

My wife and I spent several days in the Dasyushan Forest during our recent birdwatching tour of Taiwan ????????. This was the only area where we managed to see the endemic Mikado Pheasant along with many other Taiwan endemic species. There are plenty of recreation areas to park and and there is a visitor centre at the end of the main road into the park, there are plenty of clean toilet facilities within the park. A must for any visiting birder.
