It is usually said that locals don't know what is in their own backyard, e.g., New Yorkers who never have visited the Statue of Liberty, but I consider myself a lucky local to have discovered this excellent theatre and show venue right in my own backyard!
Though the theatre has been in existence for several years, only within the last four or five have I subscribed to the season's offerings.
And, boy, am I glad I did! EVERYTHING I have seen there rises to the level of anything that could be on Broadway! Actors Equity caliber entertainers come out from NYC to perform. It is a stellar cast, usually, performing in well-rehearsed and choreographed productions.
The theatre itself is a posh outpost, with a full bar in the lobby and cushy lobby seating. It has "Professional" written all over it and is polished to a fare-thee-well by the attentive and accomodating staff.
No matter what is playing there, rest assured that you will not walk away disappointed!

The Vanderbilt Museum is located on the 43-acre waterfront estate of William K. Vanderbilt II, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. His “Eagle’s Nest” mansion is itself a museum that preserves a privileged way of life from America’s Jazz Age through the Great Depression, made possible by the family’s railroad fortune. In ocean-going yachts, Vanderbilt circumnavigated the globe in the 1920s and 1930s. Visited this evening at the 10pm Pink Floyd Laser Light show. IT wasn't crowded. Affordable and a delightful evening out. There were many young people and adults. The place has a wonderful gift shop for the upcoming Christmas season. The process are phenomenal. The light show was good, the amount of noise was just right and the seating was perfect. A must try on this hidden little road overlooking the Long Island Sound... you can see Connecticut form here. If you are disabled they have a buggy that the security people will transport you by. Go ahead check this place out! WE LOVED it

Another local gem just stashed behind Rte 110 that you'd pass daily, as I did for 1.5 years when I went to college down the road 25 yrs ago.......Again, nice to see very young docents working there. The one that gave my tour wants to be a curator at a grand museum one day, I wish him luck as he seemed passionate about this little historical home.

Great park for a 4-mile round trip walk. Great scenery and view of the LI Sound. Many bike riders. Mostly paved trails, but a lot of off-road trails available. When we went for the walk, there were no houses to tour and all were closed to the public. Only a few restrooms; bring your water and refreshments. Trails had some benches to rest.

Everything was fantastic. Only suggestion is they need a few more staff to help with the warm up and some of the easier courses as we were held up quite a bit by some kids the weren't proficient on the equipment.

i have not been to Sagamore hill since i was a kid. Did not disappoint. Joe was an awesome tour guide. A genuine love for the topic and full of great stories. Every one in our group enjoyed the visit. A must do if in the area.

1. This place deals in CASH ONLY...so bring lots of cash ($200 or more is safe as tickets for 2 Adults + 2 kids with bonus rides will total $100). Food and other activity costs will run you more depending on how long you spend at White Post.
2. Pay the extra $10 per kid for the Train Ride & Pony Ride tokens -- WHEN YOU BUY YOUR TICKETS.
3. Bring the kids some BATHING SUITS or clothes they can wet in and change in to DRY clothes...otherwise the Disney themed waterslides are OUT...
***We did not know about the water slides when we got there and our kids really wanted to do it.***
4. Everyone should wear COMFORTABLE CLOTHING to deal with outdoor activities and animal related interactions.
5. To get your money's worth for you & your family, expect to spend at least 3 hours...or more.
6. Do the enclosed BIRD FEEDING area. It is worth -- Paying $3 per feeding stick or $5 for 2 feeding sticks...so, the birds will come to you and your kids to eat the seeds.
NOW, my review. White Post Farms was a REAL FUN TIME for my children. THEY LOVED IT! They could not get enough of this place...they wore us out and later themselves.
It was worth seeing them happy and full of smiles while they had fun at White Post Farms.
We would definitely return to this place -- AGAIN!!!!

My sister and I brought my two sons to the Hatchery during Mid-Winter Recess for a snow making activity. The event space was very small and crowded. Luckily, my sons really weren't interested in the event and were more than happy to walk around the trout tanks outside and feed the fish. (Fish food is $4 for a bucket, but there are quarter machines to buy food as well.) They also enjoyed the baby turtles.
The facility itself is not very big and all of it can be done within an hour or hour and a half. They do have a pond where you can fish, however it is only open on weekends. They also advertise for many special events throughout the year. We are definitely looking forward to going back when the weather is nicer and trying out luck with more special events in the future.

We had spa party which included a package of a 50 minute massage, foot soak and hand masque. There was also a light breakfast which was included and juice.
