It was a solemn visit for us, as we had a memorial service there for my father. It was the most beautiful drive up to the location of the memorial. We will do it again when we have a happier reason to visit, and make use of the pullouts along the way. We were there the latter part of September, and the weather was all over the place. Sunny, rainy, very windy, not windy, hot, cold. We were there maybe 2 1/2 hrs. Keep that in mind with what you wear that day, and take a jacket. Typical Colorado weather! Through it all, it was a beautiful place, remember your camera.

A great, relaxing way to spend a nice afternoon. We were there On aSunday, great parking, and a super hostess that explained all about the wines, and all things "wines"....we traveled via motorcycle, so we got out bottle wrapped "for the road". The Colorado Mesa college staff took us around the town via a tour bus to see the sights of the town. The town is lovely with the beautiful setting of the mountains around it.

Interesting exhibits and animals. Good place for family. A little expensive. Would recommend making the entry fee a little less. In a mall which is different.

From outdoor handball, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, etc. this is a great park. There is an abundance of space to play, eat and enjoy the outdoors at Canyon View Park. There is also a large and small dog set of enclosures located here. On the far Northeast side you'll find competition quality horseshoe pits. If you have something you're wanting to do--this is the place to go. This is a great place for families.

My kids had so much fun here. There are many hands on activities to do. It wasn't crowded when we went so my kids were able to take their time with all of the activities. The staff wast there to help, but you are free to explore at your own pace. Fun, educational activity

This was just a quick stop to get some basic information on grand Junction, and what it offers to tourists. The official we spoke to was very knowledgeable, and we gleaned far more information than expected, and really helped us to plan for our 2 day stop in town.

This is a beautiful campground along the Colorado River with a lake also, Bookcliff Lake. There are many full hookups, the sites are large with many pull-throughs, lots of greenery, beautiful views of the mountains, and its quiet. There are two playgrounds, a boat ramp into the river, a laundry facility, a paved walking trail that goes into Fruita and it is close to Grand Junction.

After our experience I was very surprised to read those two reviews that had less than pleasing experiences.
Our visit was quite fun. The people behind the “bar’ were warm and friendly. The wines were very good too.
We had no knowledge of a wine area in Colorado until I was reading up on what to do near Grand Junction. A very pleasant surprise!
Even with limited time and arriving mid-afternoon were still able to get to four wineries. We had a great afternoon and Whitewater Hill was right at the top of our list. Even the other “tasters” were fun to talk with and get recommendations from.
As I said the wines were very good and we bought several bottles to enjoy back in Arizona. We particularly enjoyed “Ethereal” a nice red wine.
If you find yourself in the area with a bit of time, hit a few of the wineries and have a pleasant afternoon.
