Even though the park is beautiful for hiking and sight seeing, my favourite spot remains the Observation Tower, high above the forest, rewarding those who climb all the way to its top with an incredible view of the point where Huron Lake meets Georgian Bay, way on the far horizon.

This was well worth the drive out from the Soo. The museum is interactive and fun for the whole family. This place topped our list of favourite science museums. Many of the exhibits are easy for younger kids to operate themselves. Our kids are 7,10 and 12. Perfect ages as they can read instructions and explore the displays themselves and so could we. The various levels space out people on the various floors and there was only one activity in the whole place that we could not get to because it was busy. Otherwise we saw everything! We arrived at 11 and left at 6pm! Got the day pass that included planetarium and Imax...well worth it and it gives you a few mintues to relax . It is a busy funfilled day. The blue coats are engaging and encourage the kids to participate, knowledagble and help to create a fun buzz. The Energy and flying squirrels demos were fantastic! Keep a look out for the beaver, porcurine and snapping turtle (especially when the blue coats take them outside)

Sainte-Marie Among the Hurons

Ontario's first European Community, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons was the headquarters for the French Jesuit Mission to the Huron Wendat people. In 1639, the Jesuits, along with French lay workers, began construction of a fenced community that included barracks, a church, workshops, residences, and a sheltered area for Native visitors. By 1648, Sainte-Marie was a wilderness home to 66 French men, representing one-fifth of the entire population of New France. Sainte-Marie's brief history ended in 1649, when members of the mission community were forced to abandon and burn their home of nearly 10 years. After extensive archaeological and historical research, Sainte-Marie among the Hurons is now recreated on its original site, where the mission's compelling story is brought to life.

Flowerpot Island

A trip out to Flowerpot Island is a great way to experience Fathom Five National Marine Park. Private tour Boats leaving from Tobermory take visitors over shipwrecks and offer opportunities to see some of the islands in the park. Once you arrive at Flowerpot Island, visitors are treated to crystal clear waters, the Lighthouse Museum, trails, and of course the unique geology of the islands which includes caves and the famous Flowerpots. While you're on the island, remember: - Carry out all your garbage - Pack water and snacks - Don't climb the Flowerpots and remain on the designated trails - Take only pictures leave only footprints

Visited Flowerpot Island last month. We booked our trip through Blue Heron Cruise. We boarded 10:30 am Glass Bottom Boat to Tobermory.. On the way to the destination we visited ship wrecks and the Tobermory Lighthouse. Weather was very nice with crystal clear blue sea . I would recommend to take light jacket as the wind was a bit cold.. after reaching there you can check the map as is displayed there for various trails. We took the trail via Flowerpot Lookout to Lighthouse .. the views were beautiful and yes the place was less crowded as compared to other tourist places.. returning we took the jet boat ride which was just a 15 min ride.. but for those who have shortage of time you can opt for jet boat ride to and fro as you wont miss much even if u dont take the glass bottom ride

The Grotto

The Grotto, in Bruce Peninsula National Park, is one of the top tourism attractions in Ontario. A shoreline sea cave with the beautiful blue waters, the Grotto is a unique natural wonder and memorable place to experience. It is also a very popular and busy location, especially during the peak season of July and August and on long weekends. At those times, the parking lot will fill up and you may not be able to access the Grotto.

Nature at its best ! Go early (8am in Fall) as limited parking passes are given for access to the grotto and Indian Head Cove from 8-12; 12-4; 4-8 Going early also allows you to enjoy the place without the crowds. The Georgian Bay Hike is the easiest way to get there from the parking spot -take the trail on the left of the information boards Views at the Grotto and the Indian Head Cove are breathtaking. Proper footwear advisable as it is rocky terrain and can get slippery after a rain. We look the Horse Lake Trail back -this is a challenging Trail and so worth it for the views! It is well marked but make sure you understand what the symbols mean to avoid getting lost

I'm not fond of coasters, but this was awesome. My husband and I visited as part of a weekend getaway. Staff were friendly, and one even took a picture of us before the ride started. The ride takes you up the mountain, and upon reaching the top you send yourself off. You can control how fast or slow you go, which put me at ease...by the end I was going full speed and enjoyed every moment. The view from the coaster was amazing. We're planning to return every season that its open for different views.

Georgian Trail

Reviewed By 2CubawithLove - Collingwood, Canada

Since retiring to Collingwood in 2016, it has been one of my greatest pleasures to daily cycle the beautiful landscapes along the Georgian Trail and its many interesting side trails from mountain to shoreline. Nature 's welcome embraces you at every turn. Some days I peddle across town to Sunset Park via the shoreline trails, past the Inushtuk to stop a while and sit on one of the numerous benches with a delicious ice cream from the on site ice cream vendor. Other trips have included rides to Thornbury to the west with stops along the way such as taking g in the history of the area thanks to the Heritage Museum at Craigleith, to snap photos along the way and challenge these aging knees with a gradual grade incline and wind resistance past Georgian Peaks. There is always something interesting to explore and e experience along the trails but if I told you then that may rib you of some of your joy in the discovering. Welcome to Collingwood , Thornbury area along the wonderfull Georgian Trail it's yours to discover! Enjoy and please be respectful to leave nothing behind but your gratitude????

Sunset Point Park

Reviewed By CraigleithTrip-taker - Collingwood, Canada

It's the beginning of winter in Collingwood and the kind of huge waves and strong winds have been wreaking havoc on the shoreline on southern Georgian Bay. Most recently, Sunset Point Park -- which was started thanks to the Rotary Club of Collingwood back in the 1960s -- has been taking a pounding from Mother Nature. The strong winds and relentless, pounding waves have caused some erosion along the Sunset Point Park area at Collingwood's waterfront. For your safety, it's smart to stay away from the damaged areas which are now under the scrutiny of the towns parks, recreation and culture department. The good news is that there is lots of park area there and much more in other waterfront areas of Collingwood. Check out Harbourview Park, behind McDonald's on First Street, and be sure to stroll through the Arboretum, even in winter.

A fine safe blue flag beach. Great for sunbathing and swimming. You have to go a long way out for the water to reach your tummy, which is kinda nice. lots of water sports to indulge in and beach games as well. Plenty of bars and restos line the waterfront. Very busy in summer.Well worth the visit.Take your chairs, mats, food and drinks if you so wish. Also some great sand artists just might surprise you with their cauldron of creativity.Must see just cos it is the largest fresh water beach in the world!
