Take one of the morning tours. You’ll be led by a volunteer naturalist along a boardwalk through the different eco systems in the swamp sanctuary. Saw wood storks, spoonbills and a variety of birds along with alligators, raccoons, snakes. Not to worry though, they’re all at a safe distance from you up on the boardwalk. The guides are great and point out all the interesting and unique flora and fauna. Definitely a place both adults and kids will enjoy.

Visited for the first time. Very warmly greeted. Access is free, but donation gladly given. A surprisingly large amount on exhibit, starting with the Revolutionary War. By far, largest exhibit is on World War 2. Many interesting things. There are guides throughout to answer questions. Very enjoyable time. Will return soon. Thank you.

Lakes Park encompasses nearly 300 acres of beautiful nature trails, lakes and gardens. Two playgrounds and water parks, a miniature train ride and railroad museum, bikes and watercraft available for rental, food concession, fitness trail and lots of picnicking areas. Every year over a million people enjoy Lakes Park's natural beauty for exercise and family recreation.

This is a beautiful park. They host a farmers market every Wednesday. There are playgrounds for children and a splash pad. Along the trail you will find workout spots with equipment and instructions. There are lots of fun signs to tell you about the animals/wildlife you may see while you are there. You can rent bikes/family bikes. There are just so many different things to do here. Every third Wednesday of the month they read to kids in the children’s garden. If you’re visiting fort Myers you should definitely add this park to your list.

I go occasionally ! It has some great fresh veggies , dog friendly I go early because it's very , very crowded during season
Actually it a nightmare.
Only complaint is parking and people who think their dog should make friends with all dogs ! Mine dosen't like dogs on leash es but even after warning people just don't get it ???
Other than that go early , get what you want ! Go home

I had no idea there was so much here - gardens, houses, museum, shop. We ended up spending 3 hours! And we got in free with our Botanical Garden membership from home. Highly recommend. You learn many interesting things about Edison's impact in Ft Myers area (e.g., he was responsible for the palm trees)

Boardwalk is about 1 mile long and shaded by the mangroves. Not very buggy. Only saw 1 Ibis. No other animals- not even a butterfly. Education center due for a thorough cleaning and updating. Kayaking appears difficult as channel looks narrow with low canopy. 800’ portage so we did not go kayaking. Very nice Veterans Memorial.

The Fort Myers Miracle are the Class A Advanced minor league baseball affiliate of the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball club. Since moving to Fort Myers in 1992, the Miracle have qualified for the Florida State League Playoffs eight times and won the Florida State League Championship in 2014. Home games are played at Hammond Stadium at the CenturyLink Sports Complex. The Fort Myers Miracle season begins in April and ends in September.

We come down for a game every year. This is a great stadium for spring training games. This place seems to be a social gathering spot for the regular snowbirds.
They offer good food and drinks and the employees are very friendly and helpful, The prices are very affordable, from standing room only to seats.

The field has the same dimensions as Fenway Park - including a Green Monster with seating at the top. The food options are a little better than most of the other Grapefruit League ball parks, but nothing is outstanding. Tip: if you try to do a day/night doubleheader here and at the other field in Fort Myers it can take up to two hours to make the short drive to the other field after the first game.

Went down here twice in one week.. So nice to walk around seeing the sculptures, talking with nice people, and so close to the downtown area. Lots of places to eat, had lunch one day, cant remember the name of the place but had great plate of fried grouper.
Big sculpture show in the River District, with lots of different metal sculptures to look at and enjoy. Definitely go there, take a walk around and enjoy yourself.
Word of Caution! Be careful of the parking areas near the downtown area. Some of the meters are very short timed... Just ask and look. Down by the river, lots of parking without any hassles... I got a ticket because I didn't know...
